so my first impression walking in was the place is very themed with the potatoes and potatoe guy. There was an empty cooler or food thing next to the ordering counter that had small duck toys in it that took away from the atmosphere. There was shelves with shampo, body wash, toilet paper, and body sprays in the front corner next to the window. The idea of sitting to eat with people picking up personal products was slightly unappealing. There was a lady before us who was of the older generation and had never been in. She walked up to order and the woman told her to order at the kiosk. She walked over to it unsure of what to do. She asked the woman what to do. The lady responded some what aggravatedly saying you touch the screen then continued back with what she was doing. So that was the only customer experience I saw. Secondly I don't know if the ventilation is done well because my eyes were burning while I waited for my food. My wait time was 22 min from the time I ordered to the time I received my food. I ordered the taco potatoes. It wasnt bad but I also disliked that the utensils came unwrapped and put in the bag which...
Read moreMy family came to town and wanted something to eat and I remembered finding this place as an alternative to another black owned business in St. Pete who only sells seafood baked potatoes on Tuesdays and Fridays. We looked them up and after seeing the wonderful ratings and beautiful pictures, I said hey, let's check them out! We came in to the establishment and immediately was welcomed by the lady behind the counter with a smile and a warm welcome. I JUST KNEW knew this was going to be a good first time experience! My nieces received their orders first and we looked at it and thought yeah, this was definitely a good idea! But after waiting an additional 20+ minutes for my order we inquired about the hold up. The woman who greeted us warmly realized that the young man, who was working diligently overlooked our order and became upset and started to complete our request herself. It was at this moment that I knew OUR food would not be made with the love my nieces food was made with. I am definitely going to try them again, but the first experience did not meet my expectations. I will update my review after my...
Read moreMy family tried Loaded for the first time tonight and I'm SO happy we did. My husband and I both tried "The Loaded" which is on the Specialty menu and it was delicious. The serving size was huge and I have enough for lunch tomorrow. My daughter got the BBQ chicken wings and loved them as well.
While we were there, a woman came in to pick up an order she placed online. There had been some kind of glitch and the staff didn't get a notification of the order. The owner apologized, was very gracious and assured her they'd get right to work on the order. Then he offered her and her husband complimentary drinks while they waited.
Just the food will be enough to bring us back again. But the excellent customer service will make us loyal repeat customers.
I also loved the idea of having games to play on many of the tables. My daughter and husband played a little bit of chess while we waited for our food to be prepared. It's a simple but thoughtful added touch that makes this locally owned restaurant a little extra special.
Support local owned businesses y'all! This place definitely...
