So you know when someone says it's the worst food I ever had? And people respond, have you eaten everywhere? Well this is the worst food I have ever had in my 57 years of existence. And as a former owner of 11 restaurants, let me say this place is no longer worth eating at and they should just shut down ASAP. So I ordered a pizza. Olives and meatballs. Half and half. They couldn't figure out half on each side so it was tossed everywhere on the whole pie. Now thats not catastrophic, but I ordered meatballs and olives. They put tiny cut up pieces of a radial tire on as olives and what I am pretty sure was shredded cardboard from their dumpster as meatballs. Now let's talk about the pizza crust. It was indeed, crusty. Nuff said. Ya know when Italian wanna be places add oregano for flavor to shim sham people into thinking its ITALIANO??????? Well they must have gotten a deal on oregano, as the sauce was more oregano than sauce. DISGUSTING. And BTW, years ago this place had some of the best pizza in the county. So is it new owners, managers, or do they no longer care? Lets talk calzone, which I also ordered. A calzone is easy peasy. Dough, ricotta, mozzarella, oven. Yes that's it 3 darn ingredients. OLD SCHOOL SIMPLE!! The only thing old school about this calzone was that it did indeed taste OLD!!!!!!! Remember the cardboard they used as meatball on the pizza? Well under that cardboard which they harvested out of the dumpster was last years cardboard that they used for the calzone dough. Is DISGUSTING a strong enuff word? NO IT AIN'T. They shorted us a whole salad, which I should thank them for because the other salad was on its best day compost. I IMPLORE YOU NOT TO EAT HERE. I spent $127 and all I got was 3 bites and a sick stomach. YES--THE WORST FOOD IN THE...
Read moreI arrived at Queens pizza to find the parking lot was almost empty. My GF and I looked up the reviews on google and the reviews were mostly good. So we decided to ignore the empty parking lot and took a chance. We walked in and it looked like a mom and pop shop which is cool. We like mom and pop shops. Very clean.
Our server was a lovely woman who was very nice to us. Took our order and we ordered the Sicilian (deep dish) pizza.
Now a bit of background of myself is I used to be a general manager for 12 years of a pizza restaurant and I KNOW how a pizza "should" look and taste.
This pizza did NOT meet the standards of how a pizza "should" look or taste.
First off the crust was almost RAW, not fully cooked. The cheese looked like it was just THROWN on and not even weighed. Which is just throwing food cost out the window. It was just like throwing a pile of GREASE into your mouth. The pizza crust tasted like card board and they need to work on that. There was so much cheese PILED ON, you couldnt even hold pizza correctly. It was just ONE HUGE SLAB of dripping, greasy, cheese and not even a pizza. You couldn't even taste the sauce. We were wondering if there was sauce on there.
My ONE star is just for the Sicilian. Now if they fix that, my ONE star will change. And of course let me mention, there are several items on the menu. Maybe the other items are better and its just the Sicilian pizza that wasn't good.
Will we be back? They say first impression is a lasting impression and our stomachs are telling us "no" since we were nauseous after eating there. We had to take A LOT of stomach pills just to digest what we just ate.
Just our honest review.
We won't be ordering the Sicilian ever...
Read moreThought I'd try this place because of the good reviews. Walked in a immediately didn't get a smile, a hello or how are you doing today from our host/waiter Dawn. Instead we got a bad attitude, negative energy and just an order taker. I decided to get a pizza and told my waiter Dawn that I can't have cheese and requested to have a pizza with Marinara, Mushrooms, Banana Peppers, Tomatoes and Spinach Mix. I read the bottom of the Menu and it said to have patience because everything was made fresh.
Our food came. Guess what? There is feta cheese sprinkled all over the pizza and is a part of the "Spinach Mix" the waiter just sat the pizza down and left the table.
A couple of thoughts began flowing while glaring at my pizza. If she knew I didn't like cheese and specifically told Dawn to curb the cheese, why in the world did she not mention the "Spinach Mix" is comprised of cheese?
About 15 minutes go by and finally she came to ask how my pizza was. I told her not good because it has cheese and she saw me taking ALL of the toppings off. She said ya, there is cheese in the "Spinach Mix" and told me a generic non genuine, sorry and left the table. There was no offer to remake my pizza or to credit our bill. To top it off 50% of the topping are made of canned items. This includes Jalapenos, Mushrooms and all peppers. I've never been to a Italian Restaurant that serves canned mushrooms on a pizza. GROSS!
From start to finish this place was a HUGE disappointment therefore I will...
