Went to crabby Tuesday's which is a all you can eat crab legs option night. We arrived at 8:00 we asked our waitress if it was to late to order all you can eat she told us No with a smile. My first round of crab legs were AMAZING! Four clusters cook to perfection and season just right. My second round came one cluster on a plate.and the season was a little salty. The third round came about 15 mins after we ordered it and again extremely salty. The fourth one cluster round which we ordered around 8:30 came to us cold and extremely salty and this batch wasn't appealing to the eye at all. We did the smart thing and ordered a double round with no season Now it is 8:45... I'm assuming she is the head waitress checks the computer to see how many round we have ordered. It was also another couple in the restaurant not sure how many rounds he had they were there before us. While we are eating the staff are cleaning the back bar area and slinging water and cleaner while we are eating . The staff was very busy cleaning and sort of made us their last priority. Now our food is up it sat on the door window for five minutes. I asked another waitress was that our food she said yes let me tell your waitress.. The waitress was picking up floor mates and she stopped to bring our food without washing her hands. They also informed us that they were cutting the steamers off in two minutes did I want to put another order in with a attitude. I actually think the bad energy was ment for the couple next to use but still.... We did nothing wrong to deserve that bad energy. So now I am feeling rushed and this meal was not cheap!! Very expensive. The tall guy that works in the bar area is wonderful. He needs to be shift manager over the bar area. He actually keeps everything going smooth. I understand that it is almost closing time and you have duties to do before you leave but... Come on people!!! We are paying a lot of money for unsatisfied service. Again... the tall guy that works at the bar is a true Leader he deserves everything good. These Five stars go to him. Only. FYI-- if your wait staff is going to have bad attitudes and give bad service maybe you should stop all you can eat at 8:00 so you can keep smiles on their faces and tips is not affected by there ready to go home...
Read moreI have been going to this restaurant since it opened. It has been my goto for oysters. I had to post this because we had a similar experience the last time we were here… I don’t know if it’s the change in staff, which naturally occurs with any place, but it has been declining. I know a lot of people love this place but if you could compare it to when it opened and now, you would understand what I mean. A good analysis would be that it has gone from being about quality to being about quantity. I was thinking this as we were there, and then my husband said the very same thing to me before I said anything to him. One small example: I ordered a peck of oysters. It used to be that right before your oysters came out, someone came and made sure that you had all the condiments that you needed for your oysters. I sat there for five minutes at least while the person was shucking my oysters and nobody asked me if I needed anything. I finally had to stop someone and ask them for the things that I needed. For a party of five, we spent at least $300. I have high expectations when I spend that kind of money for dinner, and most of that was food. There were four alcoholic drinks total. We generally go here for birthdays because we all love it. I think I might be looking elsewhere going forward. This really makes me so sad because I do love oysters and this is a great place to get them. One of my favorite things used to be the slaw and potatoes, that they serve before the meal. The slaw tasted flavorless and watered down. One of our kids got the swordfish. He ate it, and I had a bite of it, it was dry and tough. As a sidenote, and this may be my own personal preference… Whenever you have a party that has seafood, you should always refresh the butter as it grows cold and coagulates. Lastly, both of the last times that I have gotten oysters, they have not been shucked very well. I have had to finish detaching them, and a big piece of meat is usually left. I do hope they look at their reviews and take this to heart because it is one of our favorite places, or at least it was. One of our kids said they had noticed the decline as well. I do realize that this has happened at multiple places post pandemic, one of the reasons I generally get takeout now, instead of eating at many...
Read moreI was visiting NC for a few days and had the pleasure of being introduced to one of the best seafood restaurants I've visited in my life! I grew up eating seafood practically every weekend off the Pacific and later lived in Massachusetts, frequenting seafood restaurants. My visit to full moon brought such new experiences that were pleasing both visually and tastefully. A start with some of the freshest oysters was merely the beginning to a delicious and adventurous dinner. Followed by a must try, yet oddly named alligator and crawfish cheesecake, I was expecting a sin on a plate, but was mind blown by the spicy corn bread-like based filled with the seafood meat and covered with a creamy creole sauce. Even though not a spicy food fan, I couldn't resist but continue munching. After explaining my affinity for NE clan chowder, I was recommended a mixture of the crab bisque with the popular creamy soup. Combined they were a flavor force to be reckoned with, and even in the background, the clam chowder was one of the best I've ever experienced, including $20 cups in downtown Boston. Later, we were introduced to the char-grilled oysters. I NEVER in my life EVER liked cooked oysters, only raw, but boy, did these turn me into a believer! A perfect combination of flavors created the most wonderful pairing to the shellfish. The sauce alone was enough to make your knees week, that at the end, it was hard not to scrape every bit of oil with the garlic bread. Lastly, the ends of the night was crowned by the most magestic cake - banana bread pudding! An ingenious creation of the most delicious and moist banana cake with nilla wafers popping here and there and sandwiched with some creamy icing. The staff was as amazing as the food, highly attentive, entertaining, and on point with the shucking! I hope to make it back to NC simply to return to this must try foodie...
