The atmosphere is very "festive". Service was so good that three different people asked me if I was ready to order, so my guess would also be they share tips bc everyone is involved and it didn't seem like any one person had a designated table. Let's dive in about the food

Chips: solid Mexican restaurant free chips 8/10 Salsa: Same as the chip. Solid but not extraordinary 8/10 I ordered the combination plate #26, which was one burrito, one enchilada, and one chile relleno . Burrito and enchilada 8/10. I mean, let's face it a burrito and enchilada are virtually the same except for the wrapper. That being said, the ground beef inside was seasoned nicely and had a good flavor. Red sauce on top had a nice flavor as well. Chile relleno 9/10. Lots of cheese (definitely not a complaint) and filling was good. (I will be honest, I actually thought there were refried beans inside, but when I referred to the menu, it says meat. Either way, it was good) Free little dessert at the end 10/10. I don't usually get dessert, but I would assume this was a mini version of sopapillas. Two fried tortilla pieces with cinnamon and sugar, whipped cream, and strawberry drizzle. A nice and delightful suprise as I was not expecting it.

I would say the best word for Monte De Rey is "solid." While I didn't get anything off the lunch special menu, it was vast and priced well. At the time of writing this, my combo platter was 9.99, and soda (with free refill) was 2.19. I will definitely be back to continue trying...

My bestfriend and I went to eat lunch here today… big mistake. We ordered two medium Texas margaritas as they had been recommended to us over the weekend and I was looking forward to them as I had a near death experience Friday and was ready to relax with my bestfriend. Well our waiter proceeds to look at our legal identifications which were our state issued license and look us up and down and after 5 awkward minutes of this he says he will need to get the manager because he doesn’t believe our ID’s are legitimate based on how young we look… we cannot help how old we look but we are both 25 years old going on 26 and were treated like we had no right to be served. Then his manager never came out after we made pretty intense eye contact …imagine that. He then came back out and said he would bring them out to us. Well by the time they came we had already eaten our mediocre food. They were hot even with ice and clearly had ZERO alcohol in them. I personally refuse to pay $13 to drink straight sour mix. They tried to tell us we were wrong and they even made the bartender tell us it was just a new kind of tequila. We have both drank our fair share of margaritas around town and I guess they thought they could pull one over on us. I sent them back and made them remove them from the check. I will never be returning here. I highly recommend Pancho Villa.. they would never treat us like this and their foods a...

Great food but the service is terrible if you're trying to order takeout. I used to order takeout from here all the time, but I've found myself ordering less and less because it's basically a chore now. They take forever to answer the phone, even at times when they aren't busy. Half of the time I get hung up on and have to call again. Then if you can somehow talk to someone, the food usually takes over half an hour to come out. I usually arrive 10 minutes after I order, when they say it'll be ready, and have to then wait for 20 or more minutes for my food. THEN they usually get my order wrong and I have to wait even longer as they get the missing item(s). This doesn't only seem to happen to me, as I was waiting one day, another lady was complaining about the same things and got nowhere. So I do not recommend ordering takeout from here unless you have plenty of...

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. My friend and I ordered two of their quesabirria tacos, and they did not disappoint. The tortillas were perfectly crispy, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the consommé was rich and well-seasoned, adding the perfect depth to each bite. Everything tasted fresh, and the balance of cheese and meat was just right—savory, juicy, and satisfying. We also tried the horchata, which was excellent—smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet, with just the right touch of cinnamon. Definitely one of the better spots in the area.

I ordered the number three which was supposed to consist of a shredded beef enchilada a chicken taco and a chili relleno. What I got was an enchilada and a pile of cheese with a tiny sliver of what may or may not have been a former Chili's shredded skin fragment. Upon inquiring with the manager I was told that a chili relleno was just the tip if I wanted the whole chili stuff with cheese lightly battered and fried I would need to order something different they call it a chili Pueblo there he says. hummmm 🤔. I'm not impressed. AT ALL.
