Let me preface this whole thing with this: I love Ronnis wings. Friday lunches have been a go to for a long time. Today was a less than great experience. I met some friends at 11:30. There were 3 of us, we were greeted pleasantly and shown to our table, one of the 3 occupied ones in the restaurant. Drinks were on the table promptly and our order was taken. 2 gentlemen came in and sat at the table next to us. These guys were the forerunners of a large party, and ordered food for 8 or 10 people. My party sits and makes conversation amongst ourselves. Our appetizer comes out within 5 minutes. All good. 10 more minutes go by. 15. 20. 30. I only get an hour break for lunch, so I started looking for our food around the 30 minute mark. Then the large party gets theirs. Food for a table full of people that ordered almost the same things as us, were sat after us, ordered after us, ordered much more of the same foods we did. Ours was still not out. By this point, my hour was up, so I had to leave.
Now...
I know the process. I spent a decade in restaurant kitchens as a cook, manager and everything in between. I know what happens. I understand giant orders. I understand the concept of made to order. I GET IT.
What I don’t get is an hour wait for 3 orders of 10 count wings when the table that was sat and ordered 5 times that much food 10 minutes after my party sat and ate theirs. As I was leaving, I paid for our appetizer. “Sorry. Everything here is made to order.” That’s fine, but it doesn’t take an hour to cook chicken wings. Sorry Ronnis. I love you, but you’ve...
Read morePlaced an order with Ronni’s on 3/8/19 @ 4:45pm. Was told it would be a 45-50 min wait. The game was going on. Ok understandable. Arrived @5:27pm. Place was packed out of its mind. People rudely stand around and refuse to move for you. Waited for food until 5:50pm. Figured since they were extremely busy. This was my first time here as well. As I’m waiting I observe the area. It says a lot about the business. Waitresses were beyond stressed out bless them all. New girl taking names for carry out and dine in was training and obviously stressed. An elderly couple that had sat down hadn’t even had their order taken. Woman with three children was obviously impatient at her table and rushed up to pay for whatever meal they had gotten so far. As someone who worked in fast food and the food industry I feel their pain. I’ve been there. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone however I am giving them one star due to the food First off wings aren’t as incredible as some of you think. Some peoples taste buds are mediocre at best. Wings were overly soaked in honey mustard. They were ..okay. Second, pizza was way too “doughey” too soft for my liking. Not enough cheese and marinara. Just dough. Felt like I was eating raw dough. We had waited almost 30 minutes for it and including the drive there and back was at least over an hour. Food honestly isn’t worth it. Definitely isn’t worth it to sit and eat. Definitely wasn’t worth the wait. I won’t be returning and even if you’re a fan or interested in coming here to dine I highly advise against coming in on Saturdays...
Read moreThe Ronni's Restaurant Experience (Call In /Pick Up Edition). I remember Ronni's location in Kernersville years ago as I used to go all the time for wings and pizza. So I was delighted to know there was a location in Clemmons. I ordered 20 wings and had ten medium and ten teriyaki. I also ordered their 12-inch pepperoni pizza. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant and informed me of a 15-20 minute timeframe to pick up my food.
Upon arriving at the location, my food was not ready. There was a 10-minute wait once I arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes after placing my order. Once my order was ready, I could see the steam coming out of the boxes with my wings. When given my pizza, I did not feel any heat. When home, I enjoyed the teriyaki wings but did not enjoy the medium flavor. I felt the medium wings tasted more buttery than a hint of heat. Having to warm my pizza up in the microwave was a turn-off. I am sure the restaurant made the pizza way ahead of the wings.
Would I return? I am not sure if I will return or not. I heard the lady working the counter telling individuals in the kitchen to hurry up. Glaring through the window into the kitchen, it does appear they have a young-looking crew. Nevertheless, the flavor I am craving from Ronni's, I believe, left when the Kernersville location closed...
