Went for breakfast-it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. To start with the lady at the front was taking an order from another customer, she stops that while handing us menus and getting someone to seat us. She comes back and continues with his order still no one comes to seat us so she stops with his order and again goes to fine someone to seat us, Meanwhile we’re standing in the lobby holding menus. Shock were are finally seated. Waitress puts one set of silverware on table and realizes she needs two. Goes to get another set and ask what we want to drink. We order water and one sweet. She comes back with two waters and a coffee. I tell her I didn’t order coffee so she removes it and sets it on the bar where it stayed. Realizes she didn’t bring tea and says she’ll be glad to make some, by this point we we’re afraid it would be Christmas before we got it so canceled the tea. Finally got to the point of ordering and I asked for two pancakes and two strips of bacon, the other order was two scrambled eggs, one pancake, and two strips of bacon. I guess we didn’t order correctly so she had to explain how we could place our order, While we were waiting a gentleman came in ordered and ate before we got our food. 15 / 20 minutes pass and no food. My sister-in-law walked to the kitchen door to check on our food and returns to table. About 5 minutes later someone from the kitchen comes and asked if we needed anything. Just checking on our food, let me check was her response. Meanwhile our waitress is serving coffee to another table and carrying on a long conversation. Now 30 minutes have passed and we debated as to leaving or not. Surprise our food comes out. I undo my napkin to get my silverware and there is only a nasty (rust spotted) knife in there. Have to call waitress for replacement silverware. After 35 minutes we are ready to eat. Try to eat! My pancakes were like leather and even after drowning them in syrup I only managed to eat half of them, the bacon had a strange flavor and the eggs weren’t done. Maybe they should spend more time taking care of their customers instead of having what sounded like a party going on with kitchen crew. We could hear them talking and laughing. Needless to say we will not be going back and wanted to...
Read moreVisiting from Milwaukee WI. I was looking forward to eating here, since the menu looked appealing. This wasn't the case.
When I arrived. There was no host to greet or seat Mr. I had to walk over to the bar and ask for service.
I chose to sit at the bar, since I was by myself. The bartender made me a mojito, which wasn't good at all. It was missing the balance of the line. Also, I could taste more alcohol, than syrup or club soda. The mint leaves weren't fresh. I barely drank it.
I ordered the shrimp and grits, with a side of Aspargus. The presentation was great. However, the taste wasn't. The grits were lumpy and bland. The bacon gave it a funny taste. I never had shrimp and grits with bacon. It didn't give it a good taste. I didn't see any sausages as the menu stated. It wasn't worth 24 dollars. The asparagus was good tho. Nice touch and wasn't overcooked.
Overall. The rate was 2stars. I wouldn't visit again. I did tip the bartender. But, wrote a note for her to slow-down. She was running to the front to the back. Like literally running. She made her drinks too fast, which is probably why mine didn't taste well. Employees have to keep in mind that they are human and not robots. Do your job effectively. That doesn't mean move at a high rate of speed. That's how you stumble and trip, accidentally.
With me sitting at the bar, I overheard the workers, talking about certain customers and complaining. It was very unpleasant and unprofessional. Didn't appear appealing. Especially, with me sitting literally right there. They should be more conscious of whose around. I could have been a secret shopper. They would have failed if I were.
The atmosphere was nice. But, the food and drinks need work.
Restaurant has great potential. Take this as corrective criticism....
Read moreMy kids and I were excited to eat in Cleveland bc we never get to do more than drive through the town. Googled for a great place to dine in, and of all the places, we chose this 1 bc of the interior and setup. Off top, I wanted to leave bc of the prices. Secondly, I wanted to leave bc everything I wanted, as well as what my companion wanted, they were out of. That changed the mood for me. My son will eat chicken anytime and be in Heaven, so he did. My friend, my daughter, and I all ate grilled salmon bc that was basically the only other main course they had. It was delicious, and so were the fried green tomatoes. They have a topping for them that is out of this world FAN'tabulous. I ordered a creole soup or Cajun soup, whichever it was, I never got it. It took nearly 2 hours to get our food. I asked for the check and 2 to-go trays. Still intending to leave a tip, I started counting my singles. Ppl always stereotype us as too cheap to leave a tip, and knowing this waitress didn't deserve 1, I was still gonna tip. To make matters worse, the check was $178. I sat there trying to figure out if I should call the manager over, but I hate giving waitresses hell bc they already have so much on their plate(no pun intended). I got halfway home, and realized that the waitress never brought out my 2 takeout orders I made for my mom. How do u remember to add it to the check when it's time to pay, but 4get to actually bring it out when it's time to pay? I'm still pissed and will never eat...
