A colleague and I went to this establishment on a Tuesday night for dinner around 6:45p-7p, there's a few tables (10 ish), and a few people around the bar (6 ish) so not super busy.
We were seated almost immediately and then a few minutes later were brought out the chips and salsa by the same hostess who seated us. After about 10 MINUTES our waiter finally comes by to take drink orders and brings them filled 3/4 of the way with ice and very little actual drink (keep in mind the weather was in the 50's). He did NOT come to check on us for AWHILE (probably another 10-15 MINUTES) and finally we got to place our queso and guac order. After he brought out the dips we placed our entree order. As we were waiting for our entrees, we both had finished our drinks and set our cups towards the edge of the table to signal a refill. A server brought out the food and replenished our chip basket for us upon request, we forgot to mention the drinks to him.....
The waiter NEVER came back to check on us so finally after finishing most of our meal we were able to flag down another waiter who kindly replenished our drinks and what do you know, as soon as he set our refills on the table our waiter FINALLY showed up to ask "is everything okay". Lastly, when he checked in on us it was evident we were minutes away from being completely done with our dinner and would request the ticket. Well as luck would have it ANOTHER 15 MINUTES goes by, and NO WAITER in sight. Finally I got up, went to the hostess stand and requested to pay my bill.
They do not provide an ITEMIZED bill, so keep track of prices as you dine to make sure you aren't getting ripped off. What normally costs me less than $15 at any other Mexican place happened to be $24...
Read moreMy adult daughter and I stopped by for dinner Friday evening around 730ish. We were seated to the right of the bar towards the back where a service hall is. There was a TV blaring on the back wall underneath which was a party of 5 or 6 females, they weren't ladies, and an irritated toddler. They were so loud, my daughter and I were shouting at each other just to converse or just end up not speaking. When we were finally waited on we both ordered the avocado tacos. They sounded great, they looked beautiful but the taste was way, way off sharp left. The concept is great. The presentation was great. Either really adjust the amount of rosemary that was incorporated in the Pico and the salsa. It was inedible. The fried avocados in this dish are fried tempura style. They're rather heavy, oily and the flavor of the avocado is lost. Please rethink with a light panko crust. Back to the ear piercing atmosphere and a no show waiter, my kid just about lost it. Just not a good experience overall. Kind of becoming a regular type of atmosphere in the Delta area mecican restaurant that we've been to. If there is a second chance, definitely be seated towards the front or on the left side of the...
Read moreI think this is a fairly new restaurant. I had heard good things so decided to check it out while I was in the area. The service was great but I just wasn’t wow’d by the food. It was average which is okay. My table shared the chicken Florentine quesadilla. It was different and very flavorful. For my entrée, I had the carnitas chimichanga. The carnitas was flavorless. I’ve had carnitas at many restaurants, so I didn’t think it was possible for carnitas to not taste good lol. Also, the chimichanga could have been fried harder.
My margarita was a let down. I was expecting more of a punch out of it. Apparently, the margaritas on the rocks are pre-made and simply poured into the glass upon request. I’ve never been anywhere that provided a pre-made margarita on the rocks…that’s so weird to me. Would I go again? Probably so, but wouldn’t go out of my way to...
