It’s always assuring when you see lots of local patronizing a place, because that tells you it is good. On the other hand, it’s easy to stand out as a tourist, because you’re the only ones reading the menu board. Everyone else already knows what they want because they’ve been there so many times.

But that observation aside, we completely enjoyed our meal. I went with the Beyond Burger with fries, while my wife had the Taco Salad. Mine was prepared perfectly, and while veggie burgers truly only need to be heated up to make them palatable, mine spent some quality grill time. The Taco Salad was primarily to my wife’s liking, although she did mention it could have used a little more flavor pop, the kind that would come from taco seasoning. The salsa that came with it was pretty tame and added little in this category. Still, we understand that it can be difficult to dial in flavor and spice intensity, with so much variability between diner preferences.

We did chuckle at one printed sign advising customers not to lose their mind if they don’t receive their food in the order things were purchased. Since everything is prepared onsite and to customer specification, some things take longer than others. This means the fellow who came in after you and ordered something simple may get his before you. It’s good advice, and something tells me they’ve had this happen more than once.

We weren’t keeping track of who ordered what or when. We just liked our meal and called it good....

Ignore the review about "rules." This place is nothing but kindness and efficiency and absolutely amazing food.

One sign is about the fact that if you order a burger or chicken sandwich, you may see other orders (cold sandwiches) come out before yours. Thank you for making my burger fresh, no cooked burgers held in a warmer!

Another sign is about not bussing your own table. Thank you for bussing my table! I appreciate the sign so I know whether I need to do it or not!

Another sign is about not holding the door open when there is a line. The kitchen space is close to the main door. Thank you for maintaining a sanitary kitchen space free of flies and bugs!

All that being said, the sandwiches and burgers here are absolutely amazing. Be sure to try the honey mustard dressing for your fries, I think it is made from scratch.

Our first time to visit and it was all good. Quality of their creative menu items and combinations were well done. Staff was friendly and attentive - a welcomed surprise these days. Price/value/experience relationship was excellent. Counter, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and parking area well maintained. I had the Mouth of the South burger. Cooked to temp correctly and came with bacon, fried green tomato, pimiento cheese and hot fries. My wife had a deli sandwich that was delicious, lots of sliced Turkey, and potato salad. The potato salad was OK. We'll be back with friends even though it's a 20 plus mile drive down and back over the mountain. It was that...

I ordered a cheeseburger, small and onion only. I asked the lady if it would be cooked well. She said yes, that the patty was thin and that they couldn’t cook him any other way. I politely told her I did not like pink or red in my meat she said that’s OK. It won’t be that way. I ordered fries crispy. I did not know. They drowned them in some kind of seasoning that you can’t taste the fries for all the spicy seasoning poured all over it. The sad part is I spent $20 for a meal, but I did not even eat. I’m glad the critters in the woods is going to enjoy it. To make matters worse, the top of the bun was ice cold and I mean ice cold.
