3 of us went in for lunch at 1130AM on Wednesday. We were met and seated by Javier. He was a a one man show and we were lucky to have such a wonderful person to wait on us too. He was so friendly and knowledgeable of all the drinks, appetizers and entrees. We started out with a delicious house made pitcher of margaritas on the rocks. This is a premade recipe which is spot on. A perfect blend to all of our liking. We started off with a generous portion of chips and salsa. The salsa was one of the best mixtures I have ever had. There were many table side hot sauces to add to your liking. These were not your usual sauces and we enjoyed trying all of them out. Two of us ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp filled with cheese and jalapenos over peppers and onions with a chipotle drizzle. This also included 3 flour tortillas, homemade pico de gallo salad, rice and charro beans, sour cream and guacamole. The flavor here was off the charts! The shrimp were awesome, the rice was fresh, moist and flavorfull, the charro beans were the best ever. This recipe, I could not stop eating them! The pico de gallo was also the best ever, the flavor here was explosive, so fresh and tasty. My complements to the chef. My friend ordered a large burrito stuffed with chicken and steak, sprinkled with chorizo and a white cheese sauce. He also complemented the chef and said he would definitely get this again. The three of us could not stop talking about how good the food here was. We have eaten at many Mexican restaurants but this one is different. The flavors you will experience here are the best around. This place is a must try. If you haven't tried it now is the time. They have happy hour specials and a big fiesta on weekends with live music. You won't be...
Read moreThe space is clean, and inviting, and the host was warm and welcoming — all good signs at the start. I ordered the lunch chimichanga and requested a shrimp substitution, which came with a $5 upcharge. I was fine with that, assuming it meant quality shrimp prepared with care.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The dish came filled with tiny, pre-cooked salad shrimp — the kind typically tossed into a cold pasta salad — simply thrown into the chimichanga and deep-fried. The result was bland, rubbery, and lacked any real flavor or effort. Definitely not worth the extra charge.
To make matters worse, an automatic 18% gratuity was added to the bill. So my $9.50 lunch ended up costing $22.95 — a steep price for such a disappointing experience.
To be clear, I have no issue paying extra for well-prepared, fresh ingredients. But charging a premium for pre-cooked shrimp and tacking on a gratuity without any mention just leaves a bad taste. I’ll be skipping a return...
Read moreI came in with high hopes to support local, but was let down. This is not newly renovated, same seafood decoration from when this was a sushi place. The mojitos state fresh mint, my two guests order them, receive them 10 minutes apart from eachother with just sour mix and way too much of it. Ordered a replacement margarita, it was served hot for some reason. We needed to ask for more ice to keep it from melting the rest of the ice served in the drink. Two of our three food orders were wrong and food came out cool, not even hot. The birria tacos were dry and flavorless, and the veggie quesadilla has wrong ingredients and was taken off the bill, which was nice. I had hopes the reviews meant a grand slam, but this place is a...
