Mooncat Boba Cafe — Restaurant in Cleveland

Awesome boba! We went for a Yelp Elite event and this was a great experience. The small place and the branding are very cute and well thought out. I got the taro boba and my wife got the mango boba. Mine was exactly what I wanted, sadly my wife’s mango was not as good as she was expecting but she was still able to drink most of it and our son liked it.

The service was very friendly and very quick to make our teas. The chicken bites were ok, a little bland and greasy tasting even though they weren’t greasy. Not sure what oil they cook it in and hopefully it’s not a seed or vegetable oil. I asked for a sauce because it needed something more to take the flavor up a notch then to just eat them dry and I got the teriyaki sauce and it helped. If they had a yum yum sauce that would improve the chicken nuggets dramatically!

I've been waiting for a place in Cleveland that truly understands quality bubble tea!!! The flavors and options are super authentic (personal favorite is the coffee option which combines the power of coffee and tea in one incredible combination). The mango slushy is also an absolute flavor bomb! The tapioca pearls were just the right consistency. I've had chewy or too soft and I'm happy to report these were right on the money. The popcorn chicken and rice bowls were a great portion size; I recommend getting the teriyaki as your sauce choice. The chicken was nicely fried and crispy, tender, and very meaty. When you come in you're greeted by friendly baristas and the menu is prominently featured on the wall, as is the cutest moon+cat+tea logo on a stylish wooden accent wall. You can order from a digital kiosk or in person at the counter. Both times I visited it was quite busy, but even so there was little down time between ordering and receiving my order. I was at the place right next door, waiting forever for my food. I decided "Yeah, I'm gonna get a drink while I wait." and walked here.

This place is covered wall to wall with little colorful post-it notes with doodles and writing that a lot of people did!

My boba was made very fast and it was fantastic! I had the Pikachu Boba, which is a peach slushie with strawberry popping bobas. The little bobas added a nice slight tartness to my sweet drink.

Price? You know, $5.75 for a regular-sized boba ain't bad in this economy. They also have a selection of rice bowls, bentos and other stuff you can sink your teeth into!

For the kids, I am a HUGE Pokémon fan so I was so happy to see that they have a little dedicated section to the Pokémon drinks.
