Shark's Seafood & Deli — Restaurant in Cleveland

October 2021: I haven't been here in many years, but was well aware of their reputation as a renowned seafood provider in the Cleveland area. Many people argue that Sharks may be on par or even better than Omar's (on St. Clair). It was time to see if their reputation still held merit for dinner takeout.

Pros: Good food. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and the ocean perch dinners. The seafood was fried good and crispy. Large lobby area for customers to stand in line and be socially distant. Food came out pretty quickly. Minimal wait time...maybe 10-15 minutes. They have full-time security guards on the premises which made me feel safer. Dope mural on the side of the building. (Dope = slang for cool)

Cons: The parking is hectic, especially in the front and when busy. There is additional parking in the rear of the building, but there is a nice dip back there. When it rained, there was a large pond back there that I was very skeptical about driving into. The french fries were fried perfectly, but a tad too salty. I suspect that someone was heavy handed with...

I called Sharks 22 times and the line was busssy. 1 time I called and someone answered and said nothing...I waited and waited and no one said anything!!!!! I hung up the phone and called right back, line busy again. I continued to drive to the establishment placing a ordered with only a few people inside. Gentleman behind my also spoke about the line being busy, I agreed smiled and thereafter going back to my car to wait..I could hear my number called from my vehicle and immediately proceed back inside for my order. Several ladies were walking around and only 1 cashier was cashiering. I looked at my order 81 sitting on the counter and the 4 staff were walking around doing nothing. I received my order from the cashier after I asked for the only order on the counter. Drove home immediately and the fries were cold. So here you have it!!!! if I could give no stars I would but that wouldn't be fair to the cashier because she was very nice but the food was terrible .I had the scampi combo, I will begin with the orange roughy and the fried shrimp .The grease was old and it affected the taste of the fish and shrimp. There was remnants of food that had been in grease prior, that is a sign that fryers had not been filtered or skimmedt throughout the day . The scampi were mushy not firm as they should be .I have never left an review but I feel I needed to I love to patron black establishments Sharks has consistently disappointed me and it's sad.
