Popeyes of Clifton Colorado has not been open very long and they are still experiencing some problems with getting advertised products. That said I'm a big fan of the spicy fried chicken its tender moist and the coating is crispy with a good tender crunch. The redbeans and rice side is very delicious and the gumbo is pretty good too but has no sausage or shrimp in it but does have shredded chicken. I have not tried the green beans or the mashed potatoes and gravy. Be aware that even though they are for some reason not on the order board with the rest of the sides they do have onion rings. The combo meal comes with the main item plus one side and biscuit and a drink. Ask for butter and honey I Or jam available upon request. The blackened chicken strips are fine and have no coating that's fried so these are gluten free the fish was coated and fried and was moist tender with that nice crunchy but lite tender coating. I have yet to try the shrimp. The crew is usually friendly and will try to make things right if you maybe find something a bit overdone like maybe the onion rings they will fry up a second batch for you. They serve coke products at there self serve drink fountain. The drive through is usually pretty busy but sometimes the dinning room is not as busy. They generally close at 10 pm. And open at 10 am. They will be closing Christmas eve at 6 pm and closed for Christmas.I'm told the drive through closes at 11 pm.

Well, this time i have decided to go for some fried chicken, so I decided to try Popeyes, i ordered the big box, a meal that had a couple pieces of chicken, and two sides for you to pick. Drink not included. The meal was a disaster, first the chicken tasted old, seems the chicken had been in the wormer for a while, so if you order any entrees of chicken take it to your table and inspect it. If it looks old overcooked chicken take it to the counter and demand either your money back or freshly fried chicken. The sides that I ordered were good, the rice and beans were ok and so were the French fries. Also you can ask not to include chicken breast, the breast is very dried that makes you drink more liquids , you have the right to pick the pieces you like ,make sure you speak to the manager until you're satisfied with the transaction, if after this if there is no solution, demand your money back. And take about two blocks to KFC you will be glad you did.

My husband and I went thru drive thru 6/4/19 @816pm. Ordered the 10 piece mild with bone in meal. Comes with 2 large sides and 5 biscuits. He also ordered a 2 piece mild tender with a biscuit. The 2 piece was free because we had a coupon. Got home and the chicken was 5 breast, 3 thighs, 1 wing, and 1 leg. Ridiculous! All was hot and not mild. The chicken was old. I'm guessing that's why they served it. They was trying to get rid of it and not cook more mild chicken. This place is ridiculous. They can't seem to get the orders right. Spent 22$ on nasty chicken that had probably been there all day. We have gave this place chance after chance and out of the 20 times we have went, 3 times the order was correct. This time was definitely our last. City markets chicken is better and cheaper if that tells you anything. Oh, and the 2 free mild tenders were bone in breast and wing both hot not mild. Is it really that hard to get orders right?

Such a sad experience. I went here today, in the drive through. I waited at least 20 to 25 minutes to even order. There were four cars ahead of me. I finally order, and as I'm ordering the guy is responding with weird questions which should have been a clue they were going to get it wrong. I get up to the window to pay, he hands me my receipt which is illegible other than the price, and says, "it won't be ready for 6 minutes, pull around to the front and we'll bring it out to you." I park and wait, for honestly, about 20 minutes. I take my receipt and go inside and explain I have been waiting for a long while, when do they expect to have my order out? The two cashiers were both puzzled and obviously felt bad that clearly my order was forgotten about. There is no one inside and no one in the drive through at this point. The guy who took my order is no where to be found. The two cashiers scramble to put together my order. I was told I had to wait 6 minutes originally for the wings to be ready, however, that wasn't true as there were still no wings ready and wouldn't be ready for a long while. I told them tenders would be fine. They are actively working on my order when out of the flippin wood work comes drive through guy with a bag he says is my order. I'm puzzled, we all thought he fell in a well and took my order with him. I take the bag skeptically and leave. I get home to find my large mashed potatoes and gravy is served in four individual containers, obviously having been scraped from the barrel as the gravy was non existent and the potatoes tasted like they'd been sitting there for a minute. The three wing combo I got, and waited damn near an hour for in total, was not a three wing combo. It was a hodge podge of dry, overcooked, old, breast, thigh and wing, covered with an excessive amount of fries, probably trying to hide the fact they gave me the wrong order knowingly. I appreciate the cashiers trying to help and wish I would have taken whatever they put together instead of the garbage this blue eyed brown haired boy at the drive through tried to pass off as my order for close to $40. I spent almost $40 and I still haven't eaten dinner....

I so desperately want to like this location because I like the franchise and it is the only option within several hundred miles. I guess I was spoiled at the Greeley location because I never had an incorrect order, staff were always friendly and the restaurant was spotless. Unfortunately, our order is wrong about 80% of the time here and that is being generous. This last visit I specifically asked them to make sure the macaroni and cheese was in the bag because the last time I came through the drive thru they forgot it. I was told “I’m pretty sure it’s all in there but if you want you can pull around and double check because we have a line.” That absolutely annoyed me but I maintained my composure and drove around to the front. I checked the bag and guess what???? No mac-n-cheese and……no lids on the mashed potatoes and red beans and rice. A skimpy piece of foil. It would be nice to let customers know when you are out of lids so that they can use extra caution to avoid a nasty spill. (This is the second time lids were missing and I mentioned this very issue to management pre-CoVID) Anyhow, I walked up to enter the lobby but the lobby was closed. The door to the lobby was full of finger prints and looked like it had not been cleaned in quite sometime- similar to what you can see of the kitchen at the drive thru window. I hopped back in the car and went through the drive thru where I found a man ordering food as a “walk up” customer. I know that there is a worker shortage but it might be a good idea to consider a higher wage to attract the workers who will go the extra mile or…provide on going customer service training. This would ensure repeat, happy customers and a larger profit in...

I normally would not make a bad post like this. Or review, but my experience at popeye's today was not very good. I am a door Dasher so I went and waited for my order. I waited 10 minutes before I even spoke to anybody. And then after that I waited another 30 minutes to get my DoorDash order, which was some nuggets. And some drinks. When I first got there, there was no cook in the back for at least 15 minutes. When the cook got back, he and one of the other employees ended up getting in a verbal. Argument as this is all going on. The in store manager at the time was not paying any attention to anything that was going on in her kitchen. I watch 3 different families walk out. Also one had to get refunded their money. I had to call the main store manager 2 times the first time he called. He told the store manager what was going on and that we doordashers needed our orders. He said that she would personally go back and cook these nuggets. For me she did not. She just went back and got on her laptop. I called them again when the 2 employees were getting into an altercation. In the back and told him I needed my nuggets.I finally got my nuggets After about 45 minute, wait for some nuggets and Mac and cheese and drinks. And you know what it's not the employees faults. It's the store managers and the manager's fault. They need to cross-train people so they can do different people's jobs when those certain people don't want to do their jobs. That was the main issue is nobody was cross trained and there was 2 newbies. The one new bee that was on the cashier was trying to train another newbie, and they weren't cross-trained. So if I could give the star one star I...
