When the wifey and I sleep in on the weekends and have zero enthusiasm to cook breakfast for ourselves We typically head to Gina's.
I first discovered this place on Yelp! and the thing that instantly popped out at me was Rachel M.'s review and how it stated "everyone kept going back to "Gina's is better" or "Rather go to Ginas"..." so obviously it must be good. And yep, she hit the nail right on the head about this little joint.
Looking around you may feel a bit overwhelmed with all of their options. The main menu has an average amount of items on it, but along the walls they have all of their specials written up on chalkboards. Specials ranging from the tame to the extreme. I am typically an Eggs Benny kinda guy and I was just about to order them my first time there when I saw up on the board that they had a Hollandaise Omelette that was filled with Bacon, Asparagus, Cheese, and other goodies all topped with a thick velvety Hollandaise sauce. Ummm, yes please! It was pretty dynamite. Like, my eyes rolled back in my head and I got a derpy smile on my face, good.
Also up on the wall are some pretty crazy drink options that sound like both heaven and diabetes in a glass. One is like a Cherry Cheesecake Mocha. Also above the register on the wall are all of their flavor options when it comes to their Coffee drinks. There are so many options that my mind is a blur trying to remember them all, but they all sounded awesome.
Anyways, long story short, this is the place to be if you want a quality home cooked breakfast. Just be prepared to wait a bit as the place can get packed. Once you eat there though, you will...
Read moreWe have been trying to get in here for several months but every time we try there is a line out the door. This has created a very high expectation. We finally got a table and didn't have to wait! The space is small, around 15ish tables (that's an estimate). Everything appeared to be clean. They have a menu with regular breakfast and lunch style items and then the walls are chalkboard so they have additional items listed there that are not on the menu. It was a fun upbeat vibe. I ordered the crabby benedict the crab cakes were good and filled with crab not just breading, the jalapeño waffle was awesome, not very spicy (IMO I like spice) the hollandaise sauce was creamy and delicious, and the eggs were cooked properly it come with a side of potatoes and I chose the redskin home style fries those could have used some seasoning and to be cut in smaller chunks but they were okay. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy along side one of the breakfast combos with eggs, bacon and toast. Biscuits and gravy was good reminded me of a country gravy with sausage, it was good. The bacon definitely tasted odd as another review stated and the toast was way over buttered it was literally dripping, I like a lot of butter but that was too much. The service was fantastic. They appeared to work together and help out tables that were not theirs. The prices were okay but not cheap. Overall we had a good experience and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were really excited to try this place after many suggestions. We ordered 3 dishes. My husband and I are vegetarians and he ordered egg benedicts with no ham. Food came promptly but we noted that there was ham in the food so politely reminded our waitress that we dint want any ham. She rushed back and was back in 1 minute with another order. We were very impressed with the fast service. While my husband was working on his food we found ham again. Very disappointed we notified the waitress, she did not apologise. Upon asking if they just removed the ham instead of fresh order she stated " i dont know what they did back there". Clearly a lack of respect for our order she dint bother checking. She then said ill remove the charge, which did nothing to alleviate the whole situation. We were disappointed but wanted this to not to happen to another customer again. Therefore i brought the situation to managers attension but she seemed to care. The important part wasnt taking off the charges. Dont think we will ever go...
