I had to update my review because since the owner/ menu change, I've had a change of heart (previously a 1 star review).
After the first visit since "Minh Chau" changed owners, I was very disappointed. The waitresses did not know the menu, the food came out haphazardly for my group of three and saw many other reviewers were also saying similar things. It tasted different, wasn't executed well, and just wasn't the same.
Since they changed the name and updated their menu, it pained me to come back to my "old" favorite local go-to for Chinese/ pho place to see if it had changed any since my first off-putting experience.
Boy, am I sure happy I came back. To my surprise, the dishes they've added are amazing. Although the prices are higher, they have the same pho, they offer competitive lunch prices compared to other Chinese restaurantsnin the area and the dishes are now consistent and executed well.
The owner (I think she is now the main woman who serves) is very nice, polite, helpful AND accommodating. It seems like if you want something, even if it's not that way on the menu, they will do their best to please the customer.
Also, they added ramen to their menu. It's not a traditional Japanese ramen, but neither is the packaged stuff that you buy from Kroger that you love, right? That being said, they mentioned to me and my brother on a previous visit that they MAKE THEIR OWN RAMEN NOODLES. No one around here does this and let me tell you, it's the best noodle I've ever had in my life. Broth is deep, rich and flavorful, but doesnt come with the usual counterparts you'd see in a traditional ramen, WHICH IS FINE! Trust me on this one, these noodles might change your life.
The beef pho broth is the same and they do offer a lunch portion for less money.
I now have new favorite dishes that I never would have known about if I remained too stubborn to come back.

Read moreBy far the best Chinese I've ever had in my life. The people are super nice and the wait isn't long ~15-30 but more around 15. The food is always piping hot and absolutely delicious. Their orange chicken even has small pieces of oranges cooked with the chicken. And don't even get me started on the quality of the chicken. So good.
The portions for the best is out of this world. I can get two meals out of one dinner portion. Definitely recommend trying their crab rangoon too; they don't skimp out at all on their filling.
For those complaining about the setup for carryout, it's perfect for covid conditions and they even have places to park in front so you don't have to wait inside. And those talking about the rudeness of whoever answers the phone, it's because you guys are asking stupid questions. I've sat in there to wait, and I can hear the poor dude who has to answer tell you why your crab rangoon is 6 pieces and not 8. Dumb stuff like that.
For the price, it's worth it and more. The people working here are really kind if you're kind to them and understand it's harder for them when it's during busy hours. They even have it where you can order online and pick up so you don't have to call.

Read moreBest Chinese food in the immediate area.
Someone needs to let them know that the pandemic is over and that people like to sit down at a restaurant and eat.
Kids at the front who do nothing but hand you your food get real snarky when you don't leave a tip.
You don't get a tip for handing me food thru a makeshift window. You get a tip when you provide a nice place for my family to eat, take our order, provide some drinks, bring out the food on a plate, and then do the dishes.
I don't leave a tip for simply handing me a bag of food, just like nobody leaves a tip at the McDonalds counter. No need to get an attitude. Provide an actual service to get a tip. Hint: open the dining area! THE PANDEMIC IS OVER!! I don't always want carry-out.
Also, if you want the crackers that automatically come with the Wonton soup at literally every other Chinese restaurant, you have to mention that and pay extra for them.
I am literally waiting for another legit Chinese restaurant with a dining area and less snarky kids with attitude to open within 5 miles so that I can stop going here...
