I recently visited Zaxby's and found the experience to be quite underwhelming. While the food was passable, the service was a significant letdown, making it difficult to fully enjoy the meal.
Starting with the food, I found it to be just average. The chicken tenders, which are supposed to be one of their specialties, were alright but lacked the flavor and juiciness I had hoped for. They were somewhat dry and didn't have the crispiness I expected. The variety of sauces offered was decent, but none of them stood out as particularly memorable or unique. The fries were adequate, but I've had much better elsewhere. They were neither particularly crispy nor well-seasoned. The toast that came with the meal was also just okay, somewhat bland and not as buttery or toasted as I would have liked. Overall, the food barely earns 3 stars—it's not bad, but certainly not something I'd go out of my way for. It’s the kind of meal you forget about soon after finishing.
The service, however, was where the real disappointment lay. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, making the entire dining experience less enjoyable. I was greeted with a lackluster attitude at the counter, and it felt as though I was inconveniencing them by being there. It took a while to place my order, as the cashier seemed distracted and unenthusiastic about helping me. Once my order was finally placed, the wait for the food was longer than expected, especially considering the restaurant was not very busy. This gave me the impression that the kitchen was either understaffed or poorly managed.
Additionally, the dining area left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness. Tables were not promptly cleaned, and I had to wipe down my own table before sitting. The floor was littered with crumbs and bits of food, suggesting that regular maintenance and cleaning were not a priority. This lack of attention to cleanliness further detracted from the overall dining experience and made me question the overall hygiene standards of the restaurant.
In summary, Zaxby's offers mediocre food that doesn't stand out, coupled with poor service that significantly detracts from the experience. If the staff could improve their attentiveness and overall customer service, it might make a difference, but as it stands, I can't recommend it highly. Read moreI go to Zaxby’s mostly for the salads. I love the salads and that they are made when I order and not premade. They are always fresh and the chicken is always nice and warm which is a delightful combination with a chilled tomato. When I order with a request for something to be left off it is always exactly what I asked for. I tend to go on Thursday for those half priced salads and look forward to it through the week.
I am really disappointed the Minute Made Sparkling lemonades are gone but I know that isn’t the local store’s fault. My quality of life has diminished since the sparkling lemonade went away but I digress. Those lemonades made me really happy and I miss them.
My only complaint is that some of the employees have an a attitude that makes me feel like a burden for being there. Chic-Fil-A staff are always happy I am there. Maybe it is fake happy but they fake it well. Clinton Zaxby’s, please at least pretend you’re happy I am there. At the drive thru they are often hard to understand because they are speaking as though their soul has left their body and it’s too difficult to speak clearly and in full sentences. They are mostly teenagers so I can forgive that but polite employees do help my overall happiness which does help with digestion of my salad. Read moreIf I could I would give this location a negative 2 star rating. I come from Georgia and I love zaxbys. This location and the manager Arianna gave me the worst experience I have ever had. I ordered through the drive thru. It's was about a $46 order. I was polite with my order so was the employee that took my order. I waited about 5-7 minutes In the drive thru. Not really what I'm concerned with, but as I got to the window to pay I was told we are not accepting any $50 or $100 bills. I just came from the bank. Cash was all I had and it was a $50 bill. Arianna the "manager"said they had no way of testing my legal tender to see if it could possibly be counterfeit. She would not accept my legal tender. So after I got frustrated because I just got this cash from the bank, not 10 minutes before I arrived at this location I could not get my order. I will now never go to this location ever. If I want zaxbys I will take the drive 20 minutes across town to the other location in north ogden. Very disappointing, and displeased that now I'm getting food for my family at another place.
