Monarca Gourmet Paletas — Restaurant in Clive

Monarca tends to always have a line, but that is a clear sign that this is a place worth waiting in line for. My husband and I recently went here for the first time and were instantly impressed by the way the staff was handling safety measures and how friendly they were to the customers. When it was our turn to order, we had a general idea of what to expect, but were asked if we had been there before... we had not, so they gave us a brief history of the business and the best ways to order, and also gave some recommendations for flavor combinations based on what we were leaning toward. In spite of how busy they were, the staff took time to give each customer personal attention. That is commendable, memorable, and left us both feeling that it would be a place we would frequent again. And the paletas? C'mon, now... you can tell from the other reviews how wonderful they are. We weren't feeling dairy so much on our visit, so we opted for a more fruit sorbet style bar with a sort of spicy sauce on top, which ended up being perfect for a blazing hot day. All in all, it is a place to visit again and again. And I almost forgot to mention the artwork on the walls......

We decided to try this place out on a whim and we were so happy we did!! They 2 employees working were super nice and patient as they helped us make our selections and they were able to answer our questions about everything since we had never had a paleta before!

I tried the coffee for my base and it was super good! Definitely tasted like an espresso iced coffee and I added some yummies to the top and caramel! My sister got a strawberry cheesecake one I believe and her friend got a peanut butter base with some toppings and condensed milk drizzle!!

Adults - YES they had alcoholic ones too!!! I didn't get to try it but will next time for sure!!!

We tried each others and they were ALL GOOD!! Mine was not as sweet as theirs but they were allll delicious! I definitely recommend! I feel like you can't go wrong with anything you choose.

The restaurant we ate at was out of creme brulee so we decided to venture down the street to Monarcas. Much to our surprise this was the BEST DESSERT EXPERIENCE! The ice cream popsicles are hand made and are delicious. You can pick from a pretty wide selection from Oreo (which is a Oreo popcicle with an entire Oreo frozen inside it!!), To Reeses (yes, of course the PB cup is frozen inside), to coffee, berries, and yogurt. From there take your popcicle to get dipped.

I chose the dulce de leche made s'mores style topped with graham cracker and drizzled with caramel--highly recommend-- they torch the dipped Marshmello in front of you which turns the popcicle into the perfect consistency.

Service is excellent.
