Never waited for a drink, and very friendly. A must stop. Place was clean and well kept! Went for one beer and stayed a couple hours.

This place endures, great regular clientele. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel at home, met most of the other bartenders and they are all great people. RD the owner is a class act and understands how to run the place, very welcoming and talks to everyone, seems very engaged with the success!

And yes, Great job remembering people and even their order they had last time they were there.

Travelers and visitors are treated like they are regulars, in good ways. They dont put up with idiots and if you are being disrespectful they will call you on it. They make everyone comfortable at all times.

The Moose is still the only must stop bar on the west side of town. If you havent been there then you have not experience the real Iowa people, its a small town bar enviroment in the the Des Moines area. DONT MISS STOPPING BY IF YOUR IN TOWN!

FYI - Get there early and check there daily food specials. They serve some great food, but you can still get the stuff that you will regret eating the next day if that is what...

This is normally a good place to hang out, get a few drinks for our rec volleyball games etc. Last night really turned me off and I would give this a zero star if I could. My wife and some co workers went in for a few drinks before our rec volleyball game. My 29 year old, 8 months pregnant wife went up to the bar to ask for a water and was denied. The bartender was already rude to everyone else that night but this was bit too far. He told her that she couldn't have a water because she didn't have her ID. I dont know the last place I have been where you needed an ID for water. He preceded to not myself or my colleagues to have a water either until she gave him her ID. Of course she didnt have it as she has needed it in 8 months. If being 21 to get in was such a big issue to be in this place then they should ID at the door. ‘Myself & 2 other friends arrived at the flying moose around 8:30 having a great time! Within 1 hour we felt as if we were being investigated by the bouncer who was constantly was following us into the bathroom, following us outside while we were peacefully smoking a cigarette & also when I personally came in to go to the restroom when he followed me into the restroom. I felt unsafe, uncomfortable & as if I was assumed as a criminal. I will be telling friends & family not to go to this establishment due to disrespect & being targeted for no absolute reason whatsoever. I personally have a sister who’s worked for over 10+ & coincidently worked for flying moose over 2 years ago. This was the worse service I have received when I go out 3-4 times throughout her week throughout the Des Moines, west Des Moines & rural areas.
