After picking up four pieces of pottery for my children this week, the bottom of the Glazed Expressions bag completely ripped open once in the parking lot. Two of the four pieces were damaged. When I went into the store, the manager helping me said that once the pottery leaves the store, it is no longer the store's responsibility. One of the two pieces was very mildly damaged, and I would have been happy with no solution to that issue. However, the second larger piece was not only broken in half, but it had several small pieces broken apart. The manager suggested I glue the pottery back together. I showed her the many tiny and sharp pieces, noting that it would not be safe to try to reassemble sharp pieces and hand it over to a small child. She was happy to offer coupons for the studio fee ($5 value/per child). Unfortunately, the total cost we had paid to paint pottery, including the studio fee, was $117. Had one of my children left the studio and dropped his/her piece in the parking lot, then I would agree that it is not the store's responsibility. However, receiving a defective bag (or bag that had been filled with too much pottery by the staff), and then watching it completely break apart felt like an issue that is the responsibility of the store. I was hopeful this would have been an opportunity for Glazed Expressions to provide an excellent customer service experience, but that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTL:DR A little pricy but, overall pretty fun with a variety of ceramics and colors to choose from, with a helpful staff that is knowledgeable on the product. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Took my daughter on a spring break morning for something fun to do. She picked out a kitty coin bank and I selected a soap dish to use as a tea bag caddy. Staff was able to answer my questions and give some advise on what color layering order is best to use. Sadly I forgot most of it as I was trying to think of what to paint. Paint brushs were... "Well loved" they weren't great but, I'm not exactly an artist and I have a shaky hand anyway, so a new brush probably wouldn't have helped much.
If you're taking a child remember they will probably be done in about 15-30. If you're a perfectionist... You're going to want to leave the kid at home so you can take as much time as you need. Keep it simple and have some fun and remember anything you make is just for you so it doesn't need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointment, my son wanted to do pottery painting and turned out they were closed. My fault for not reading the times right, but sho who is closed on Monday and Tuesday lol
I apologize, for some reason the whole post didnāt send, I included that I have visited before, the 2- stars is not based solely on my error in not reading the times right, that is by no means the companies fault that I didnāt look at the times right. While my kids enjoy going, for me itās not financially feasible to take them all the time, itās fairly expensive, and although they do have cheaper options, they are by no means as cool as the expensive options, of course! You do sit down with your group but was definitely not a place to go with 2 younger kids alone. The paint is nice to see the different options but can be a little overwhelming with all the options they have. The staff seemed to have disappeared. You do have to go back to pick up your piece later after...
