Kids wanted to try this one and I can see why. A lot of younger kids here and apparently it’s popular amount the HS crowd. Doesn’t mean that it doesn’t cater to everyone but I wanted to see it for myself so here we go…..
Firstly, and I think very importantly, it’s easy on the wallet. Anytime that happens it’s a plus for me. Quality is also important but it’s a fine line between what a person can sacrifice in terms of quality FOR the more affordable price point. I’m glad to say it’s a good balance. Kimbop $5 rolls were great. $8 sandwiches… yes please. The menu gives you a variety of fresh items that are super wallet friendly and really tasty. I had the spam and egg and its was solid. The sandwich was excellent. I had the BELT, soo good. Impressive for a sandwich. They didn’t skimp on the bacon. And if you know deli vs Korean sandwiches… it’s hits different. IYKYK.
Also had the original Donkatsu which was substantial. Not as good as some other places I’ve had. The breading was excellent. The pork was thin, but I didn’t complain. Still satisfied my craving. Ramen was played up a bit and was fine.
Overall food was above par. Price was fantastic. And my boys and I left pretty happy. You can’t...
Read moreThis is a great addition to the Kfood scene in Closter. For the food items, we have tried the chicken and pork donkatsu, ramen, rose tteokbokki, spam and egg kimbap, squid kimbap, Yumsem kimbap, donkatsu kimbap, KToast sandwich and BELT sandwich. The standouts were: the donkatsu, which was two generous cutlets cooked to hot and crispy perfection and seasoned just right AND the rose ttokbokki, which has a creamy, spicy but not overly so, slightly sweet sauce and the most incredible rice cake consistency I’ve ever tasted…because they make their rice cakes on site! Their KToast is a flavor bomb. For the drinks we have tried the shine muscat-ade, mango iced tea, peach iced tea and Vietnamese coffee. Our favorites were the shine muscat and mango iced teas but the Vietnamese coffee was prepared so beautifully and with flecks of gold on top.
Everything is made fresh and all of their food and drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. They’re working out some kinks with processing orders during peak times like lunch. The owner is so sweet and lovely. Overall, this place is a winner and I hope they don’t change the quality, variety or price of...
I visited today, and I am including the image of the card statement for the visit verification. I arrived a little before 5 PM, ordered two rolls of kimbap (Yumsem/Squid), and completed the payment. I was told I would have to wait for 20 minutes, but as I waited, they said the orders were delayed and it would take longer. Despite waiting, the food did not come out, and I saw customers ahead of me being turned away due to a lack of ingredients. After about 30 minutes, I asked about my order, and they said they had run out of kimbap ingredients and offered a refund. Why did they take the order in the first place? They also mentioned they usually close at 5 PM but couldn't because of the backlog of orders. They shouldn't have accepted my order. They offered a refund in cash instead of back to my card, so I considered taking tteokbokki or something else instead. However, the noise from the blender behind the counter made it hard to hear clearly. When I suggested taking tteokbokki if the price difference wasn't significant, the cashier suddenly shouted, "What?!" which startled and froze me. He said that he was overwhelmed and had a headache, so she shouted. Does this make any sense? Furthermore, perhaps because I look young or maybe she just didn't see me, the lady who seemed to be the owner was apologizing to other adults but just passed by me. So, I didn't get to taste the food, but the service seemed...
