I have been waiting on posting this, giving the business an opportunity to respond to me but I haven't heard back. A good portion of the community here will not agree with this but that is ok, they are not me, nor have they been to this business and had my same experiences. For a long time, even prior to covid, when my family or friends eat here and I am with them, we are treated extremely poor. If they go without me, they always say how much better of service they get and not sure why every time I am with them it is different (I know why). On Saturday, 8/15 we decided to go to K-Bobs for lunch. We arrived there according to my life360 app at 12:23. As normal for service here, it took a while to be acknowledged and get our drink orders. Service has never been a strong suit here. About 1:00 we started asking our server for our food. She politely said she would check, we didn't hear back from her. Meanwhile 2 tables who came after us received their food. One female even sent her food back due to an error with her order and again received her food prior to us. At about 1:30, still no food, I asked the server to cancel my order and bring the check for our drinks which I don't think were ever refilled but I can't say for sure. The waitress didn't argue but tried to play a little dumb for why I was upset. She walked away, a few minutes passed and the manager came out to ask how we were. I explained my displeasure for the service. Was the manager understanding to our frustrations? Absolutely not, she proceeded to tell me that she checked the camera and that we had only been there for 40 minutes at that point. Side note, in speaking with the managers boss, he said food turn around time is 15 minutes but whatever. I continued asking how much the drinks were due to becoming extremely upset, I didn't want to explode and wanted to leave cash. Our waitress had at this point finally started bringing out food for everyone else but my wife, daughter and myself. She said our food was finally ready (over an hour after our arrival) and could bring it. Again, I had canceled my order but my wife accepted her request to box up her and my daughters food. A few minutes later our waitress came out with the boxes of food but no check to pay. I should have rejected the food but, I just wanted to leave so it was easier to pay and leave. I handed the waitress my card without looking at the food or seeing a check. We were supposedly getting a discount on our meal. She returns with my receipt for what I'm expecting 2 meals and I was charged $45. I sign it and we leave to head out of town and eat on the road. After on the highway, my wife and daughter start eating their steaks with there hands because we were not given any plastic utensils. The first thing they say, the food is cold. Both of them ordered their steak medium rare and they both looked like beef jerky with no pink. Kbobs cannot cook a proper steak so I quit ordering them a long time ago. I opened up my prime rib sandwich and touched the meat and it was also cold. My fries were freezing cold as well. I'm not sure why it takes so long to get cold food or maybe it is due to the amount of time it takes to overcook the steaks but whatever. I waited a few days and then called to speak with the boss. I spoke with John and explained my concerns. John informed me he was at one of their other locations but was extremely upset at how we were treated. He would look into this and get back to me Friday (8/21) or at least that was my understanding. I didn't hear back. Here's the deal, I am convinced after speaking with friends and finding out that this is happening to others who are like me we know the issue. You see, I am not white, I am brown. I have experienced being treated poorly my entire life due to the color of my skin. My wife is white, my children are lighter which is why they get better service when they are not with me, I am convinced of this. Being treated poorly at this restaurant is common if you don't look a certain way or maybe just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice and clean environment. I did have a chance to go to the bathroom and it was also clean. I ordered a chicken fried chicken lunch portion because I donāt eat very much and it was perfect. I didnāt eat all of it, but I shared it with my husband. He ordered hamburger steak and enjoyed it as well. We will definitely go back again if we pass through at a time we are looking to have a meal. The salad bar looked wonderful, but it didnāt have the meats we wanted and we were not interested in having a salad as our meal. I would recommend them allowing people who order a full meal or lunch meal to have one trip to the salad bar as their side or salad if it comes with one. They could provide them with a smaller plate. What they do now is they make a salad in the back and bring it out. Allowing one trip would ease up on the wait staff if they have to make these and allow them to focus more on other custom needs especially during their busiest times, which would improve the customer service level of the restaurant. I donāt believe it would increase the food portion being consumed by the customers making their own salad with more choices of their preferences vs the salad they have chosen to make as their side salad. This is what Section Hand in Brownwood, TX does and they are well know for their salad bar. I believe a large volume of their customers go there because of their ability to have one trip to the salad bar. I know that I look forward to it vs a house maid salad because I am a very picky eater. So I would choose pickles instead of onion on my salad, or I would choose sunflower seeds over tomatoes. So it really just changes up the choices of what the customer chooses. If they deem the prices need to be adjusted upward just a bit for this option, I believe customers would not have any problem with it because of the value they would place on having the option to choose their own salad options. Section hand also has the choice of traditional iceberg lettuce vs romaine lettuce. The majority of them choose iceberg but for someone like my mom who doesnāt prefer iceberg, she has the option of romaine instead of the iceberg. Having this option allows customers to have more options which increases the value of their opinions. In addition, section hand also offers a one trip option, which is a reasonably priced and great for someone like me who never can justify the cost for a buffet style meal at any restaurant because I do not eat enough food to justify the value for the money I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis will be my last review of my last visit. They haven't improved any at all, in fact most areas things are worse. The front doors no longer squeak, (The only real positive thing I have to say-It's all downhill from here, so, you can leave now if you want) The salad/buffet bar is worse looking, and if I hadn't been using a gift card would have left right then. They seem to specialize in hiring surly losers for wait staff. I shudder to think of the kitchen mob. The food was generally unacceptable, over priced, and all the other nice words you use to say it basically sucked. I wouldn't ever consider letting them have my credit card number based on their lack of math skills with the gift card, makes me giggle to think of what they might do to you.
Wow-- Time flies! Someone who is a casual doo gooder friend gave me a gift card, "Try them again--they have really improved!! I should have just melted the card standing there. Inside the place they have NO ONE who gets it. How they can fail at so many things-so consistently-for so long and still open the doors is beyond me.
Cold food, after we waited almost fifteen minutes to order and twenty five for them to cook it. And we were the only patrons in the WHOLE place. The math on the ticket -once we got it- was terrible, and i was glad enough for the amount to be $44 and change so I could tip them the rest of the $50 card, jut so I wouldn't have a balance.
Can you award negative stars? Or the high school math 'Imaginary stars" Like Imaginary numbers? Knock it down and pave it over-----
September 2018. Back in the summer we were invited out by friends and went, just to check out the 'New Manager.' He really did seem to have made a difference. Better in every department. Prices still a little too steep for what you get, but for a special occasion? 'Yeah. let's do this.' Skip to September and the back sliding has commenced. Stand around at the door waiting for someone to come seat you. Watch them walk slowly from the back, three other parties in the place, 'Not feeling good about them already.' Seven minutes before server saunters over, and that kind of sums up the rest of the experience. The merchant's steak for $20? That's the last one I'll be having-It was good but not that special. My wife's burger with onion rings on was the best thing at the table. The salad bar at least hadn't slipped from the summer visit, good all around, but still...
