Hartz Chicken Buffet — Restaurant in Clute

this is the letter that I had to write to the Hartz headquarters. They should really have horrible up on the list because that would be this restraunt.

I recently ate at the clute, tx location. I am extremely disapointed in the level of service. First, a friend and myself payed for our buffet. The food was cold. Second, the cole slaw was sour. I then asked the manager if I could have some fresh cole slaw which he had said that it was made that morning. This was at 2:30 pm in the afternoon. I then informed him that he needed to keep the slaw over ice. He then proceeded to print out a reciept for mayo that he had supposedly purchased the night before (why would you do this?) Then the manager proceeded to wait until the other customer that was inside left and he walked back over to my table and proceeded to yell at me. I informed him that that was not the way of good customer service What he should have done was put some fresh cole slaw in a small container and apologize for the nasty, and not antagonize the situation. I will be calling the BBB to inform them of this situation and I was writing to inform you that doing business with ppl that run a restraunt in this manner is going to continue keeping the parking lot empty. Also, after I walked out of the building the manager's wife ate some of the cole slaw that I had said was sour and then tried to get my friend to eat it with the same fork that she had used. My mother owns a business and I have never seen a business manager act in this way towards a customer. A simple apology would have worked, instead I was harassed by someone that was insulted by telling him that his slaw was sour. Also, while my friend was walking out the manager's wife asked her if I had just lost my husband or boyfriend because she didnt understand why I was so mad, when I distinctly told him that he should not be yelling at...

The Hartz Chicken in Clute, Tx. had freshly cooked chicken! One can always appreciate a batch of freshly cooked chicken, and fried in fresh cooking oil. Please come to West Columbia, Tx, we need more restaurants.

3/28/2025... I removed my (4) star review for a 3 star review. I had always received Hot, non greasy chicken from the Clute, Tx Hartz... but today, the chicken was "very greasy"; and the grease it was cooked in was so dark and used!! I couldn't believe their chicken was that bad! If I lived closer, I would have "returned it "

Maybe new ownership that doesn't care...
