Ask yourself, have you ever had one of those nights where all you wanted was a good chicken fried steak and some eggs? Well I know for a fact that I have, and Dennys has always been the one to settle my fierce appetite. So I naturally I dialled the closest Dennys. My mouth salivated as I thought about devouring that tender flavorful meal they called Country fried steak. As I waited for my server to answer my call I relished the idea of chewing those crispy hash browns. He answers. "Denny's" he says in a dulled tone "what can I get you?". I could tell from the tone of his voice he was not intrigued to be an employee of this establishment, not caring to please. "Hi, I would love an order of your Country Fried Steak and eggs please" I pleaded. There was a pause with was a slight ringing in the background. I waited, eager for his reply. "sure" he finally says in an annoyed tone "what else". "I'll actually make it two" knowing fully well that I would need to make it through this journey. "Ok" he says "that will be fifteen minutes". "Thanks, dad" I replied. That fifteen minutes felt like fifteen years knowing I would soon be sipping that work country gravy down my throat. 15 minutes later I made way across the desolate street. As I enter the smell of coffee and bacon entered my nostrils. I knew I had entered the right place. I walk up to the cashier with a bright smile on my face, a hunger pain in my stomach, and a Stokers in my lip. "Did you order takeout" he says in a cold demeanor. "Yes" I say. He stared at me as if he had a flash back from 'Nam. "That will be 30 dollars" he stated. I pay in cash. "That will be just a moment" he says as he hands me my receipt. A sat on the bench waiting for my order. My cravings amplified by the minuet. 15 minutes later I was approached by another waiter. He looked dead in the eyes. He knew something. "Our cooks overlooked your order, it'll be about fifteen more minuets" he said with remorse. "Oh" I replied in devastated tone. My stomach felt like a black hole, needing more and more. He walked away silently as I sat there in sorrow. I pondered thoughts of regret as I waited. Each passing minute these thoughts got more and more intense. I see my waiter walking my way with a look of intent. Did he have our food? No. "Can I get you a drink while you wait?" He asks. I asked for a Bud Light to know avail. He brings me water. As I bring the cup to my parched lips I got a hint of salt. I jump disgust. "No drink for me I guess" I mumbled to myself. Moments later I see my waiter walking out with a bag. " Could this be it?"i thought to myself "has the resolution to my hunger arrived?" It had. I thank waiter for my food and head out to my awaiting carriage. As I sat down to enjoy what should have been a meal fit for a king I found only what could have been described as cat food. 54 1/2 minutes. I waited 54 1/4 minutes for worst 3 minuets and 30 seconds of my life. The steak was was like rubber, the gravy was like burnt rue. The hash browns where greasy and small. The tas tasted of sulphur. I left in remorse. My heart felt as if it had been shattered by an 800lb gorilla. As I drove away I told my self...
Read moreThis was my 1st time visit at Denny's. As other have complained about wait times just to be seated, we had wait time of about 10'. Once we were seated, the server took our order and served us water and coffee on time before the food was ready. My sis-in-law had requested plain omlette to be prepared for her 2 yr old baby and had requested our server to ask the chef to make it 1st before the chef cooked our food so that she can feed the baby 1st. The server after few min came to her and told her that the food have been backed up but chef is trying best to make baby's omelette. She got the omelette first for the baby which was nice and did not have to wait too long. My hubby and my sis-in-law had ordered Omelet with onions and cheddar with white bread and hash browns. Everything was perfect for them. 1 Sr. Tilapia was ordered by another family member. He loved it. The server did come by to ask for more coffee. I think he did order white bread but did not get it and I guess he again reminded the server and she brought the bread for him. I had ordered Loaded Veggie Omelet. It came with sauteed/grilled Big pieces of Zucchini and yellow Squash. I did not want mushrooms and spinach so had opt out for the same. The tomatoes were not sauteed and omelet was topped off with onions and tomato. Although, I was hesitating to try, it turned out to be good. Only concern is the pieces of Zucchini and squash were too thick and big. It would be nice to have thinner slices of Zucchini and squash and also sauteed onions and tomatoes. I had asked for wheat bread toast. The lady gave me toast saying wheat toast but it was lightly burnt and when I broke it, it didn't seem like wheat bread. But anyways, hash brown were good and she did give us extra butter and jam. Mild Roast Coffee- $2.25, Loaded Veggie Omelet- $9.79, Omelet with onions and cheese - $7.99, 1 Sr. Tilapia $9.89 1 Egg Plain Omelet- $1.99. Overall...
Read moreA not so pleasant experience with a male server who didn't provide his name. Stopped here at 3:30 pm. Husband ordered a moon over my hammy w/fries, son ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. Other son ordered Mac n,cheese w/fries. I ordered a chicken Caesar w/avocado salad. Son got his Mac n cheese without the fries. Finished it before we got our food. Next the moon over my hammy. Husb finished his fries before the eggs and bacon came out. No pancakes or other fries yet. He said he'd be right back with the pancakes, fries and my salad. My son finished his eggs by the time he finally came back with my salad and sons fries, almost 10 minutes later. He delivers the salad and says I'm sorry the pancakes should be out shortly. My husband said "it takes that long to make pancakes? Waiter said sorry (again) and that he made a mistake with another order giving the pancakes to another table. He said he was doing the best he can in an annoyed manner. He walks away and helps another waitress clean the table behind my husband and loud and clear complains to the waitress how impatient we were. After 10 minutes later we are all finished with our meals and the pancakes arrive. Several things went wrong with this visit. Mind you, we were not rude or have an attitude with the server. Just inquired about the LONG delay in receiving the pancakes. A. The booth and table were wet when seated. B. No place setting were put on the table. C. Waiters attitude when asked for a setting. D. Terrible food delivery timing. E. Attitude from waiter when inquiring about the delay. F. Blatant rudeness from the waiter to another employee right next to us. G. Floors were filthy I get the impression that because of the location that patronage and cleanliness is secondary and management has no pride in this establishment. I dont think this review will mean much to them but hope its a heads up to...
