McDonald's — Restaurant in Coalinga

Let's be honest. This review is not going to convince you to skip the McDonalds in Coalinga (just off I-5), but at least you will know what you are in for.

First off, this McDonalds exists purely for travelers with limited options. That means it's constantly busy with short-fused, self-entitled travelers in a hurry. The parking lot is a hazard and the drive-through line stretches out to the street at times. Be mindful of where you park because you might not be able to get out (or should I say, the people in the drive-through line stretching through the parking lot won't let you out).

Inside, you will find no line to order, but lots of people waiting for their order. Never a good sign. Walk up to the counter to order and you might not get help unless you ask. There are two self-service ordering kiosks that may or may not be functioning properly. Once your order is complete, it's hard to figure out how to progress to the final screen to pay and get an order number.

Here's what inspired me to write this review. 23 minutes to get a chicken sandwich, 10 piece chicken nuggets, and two orders of fries. I ordered at 10:31am and didn't get my food until 10:54am...and that's only because I asked someone who had to hunt down the order and put it together. There's a conveniently-located 866 number to call for feedback...and I did. A woman took down all my information and told me someone would call back. Wanna guess if they called...

Would give this MCD negative score if possible. Ordered at 2PM on the mobile app, went through drive thru, and didn't get my order till 2:30PM.

When I got to the order pickup window, my car, as well as the two cars behind me were told to go to a curbside spot. Around 2:15PM, a worker came to drop off food to me, but it was not my order. It turned out to be the car that was next to mine's order. The worker said that my order was coming out shortly. When it did not come out in another 15minutes, I had to go in and ask about the order. They did not even know anything about my order...even though I was originally told to park at a curbside spot at the drive thru window. The two cars that ordered after us and were also told to park curbside were all brought their order before me. After speaking with a manager (because the other workers did not know what was going on), my order was finally brought out. But wait, it gets worse. They forget the large sprite I ordered. The worker brings it after being informed. When she brings it, she brings it without a straw..when asked for a straw she seems annoyed. How are you supposed to drink out of it without a straw? After finally waiting 30minutes, I drove off fed up. Upon getting to my destination, I get ready to eat the nuggets and find out they forget to put any of the sauces from my order in here. Reading a bunch of the other reviews, this seems like a normal occurrence here. Avoid this location...

Believe they underestimated the business and staff members needed. So busy and crammed packed and Staff members were ignoring customers. Seems like focus was on DriveThru. Customers standing at register for over 15 mins. Sign put up to encourage us to use the Kiosk but a line started forming. So staff ignored line forming at register, even when called for assistance. Restroom was disgustingly unclean. Floors in restaurant were wet and filthy. Drink station was out of lids for L cups. My order took 43 minutes. Order was cold and stale, as busy as they were and the fryers going off every few minutes I expected order would be fresh at least after such a long wait, but NOPE. I ordered a S’mores McFlurry and wasn’t given it so I asked for it and staff acted like I didn’t pay for it when I did and said I needed it cuz $6 was paid. When given it 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ it was NOT a McFlurry but a cup of vanilla ice cream with some tops dumped on top. Fries were stale. Chicken sandwich was so sloppy in cart box and just messy, had to reorganize it. Nuggets were cold and dry. Watching others wait for their orders and focus was mostly on drive thru food which felt unfair....
