Be cautious, the presentation of the food is appealing, but it does not match the taste. Everything was EXTREMELY bland. We should’ve left when we walked in and 4 servers are standing at a table directly in front of the door next to the host stand eating. Management allowing that is probably why it was dead here on a Friday night. We immediately were sat by the host. Our server Julia, told me they were out of sweet tea. No big deal. I got my water instead. We got the Street Corn and Chorizo Fundido appetizers. They looked great, until we tasted them. The street corn was probably the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve had quite a lot, it’s one of my favorite things. It came out on a steaming skillet for show, but was basically just cheese and mayo on it. I had to ask for more seasoning and it didn’t seem like there was any Cojita on it either. Very disappointing. After getting these, and being let down, we were wanting to order our meal. We had decided on the Molcajeta Del Mar, but were not able to order for an additional 10 minutes because our server was back at the table at the front door eating again. We made eye contact multiple times trying to subtly get her to come back so we could order, but she just kept eating and not coming to our table. Once she finally got our order, a food runner brought it out, and once again, first impression was that it was visually appealing. It was not tastefully appealing. It was very bland, as if everything was just boiled and no seasonings. Probably the first time I’ve decided not to eat my food at a Mexican restaurant. I LOVE food and for me to not eat really means it just flat out sucks. And to top everything off, one of the easiest items to make, my plantains, were way too overly dry. When we told our server that we weren’t fond of most of it, she didn’t try and reconcile it in any form. I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants, and at any single one of them, we always tried to make the customer leave happy. Whether it was remade food, a percentage off the bill, or at least the OFFER of either of those things. We were not given any sort of fix to our issue. Only reason I’m giving two stars is solely for the presentation. The place has potential, especially with the atmosphere, but as to our service, and our food, I would not recommend it to anybody.

I just had surgery and could not really eat much and did not want to waste food since there are children that go hungry and have to go to bed hungry. So I asked store owner if it was possible that I could get a kid's meal, and her response was "We do not make any money of kids meals." I was astounded on the reply she said and then top of that told me no that I could not order anything from kids menu. So I once again emphasized that I do not want to throw away food and that I was not going to be able to eat chips and salsa, then eat an entire entree, and once again disperse what I do not eat. Deep down inside being a Chrisitian it really hit me hard, when I started to think about all those unfortunate people who go hungry, while here I am with a valid excuse, and I get the worse customer service from the actual "restaurant owner." The restaurant earlier from here during the day had no problem with it and I even got a first responder's discount which they not even offer here, but that is not the most important part, its that I personally hate wasting food. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE AND I **DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO VISIT AND EAT HERE, CAUSE JUST LIKE THE OTHER NEGATIVE COMMENTS THEY ARE REALLY TRUE! Worst restaurant as far as customer service and warm to cold food! Go somewhere else, cause rememeber what store owner said "WE DO NOT MAKE ANY MONEY KID'S MENU", greed, so you rather not take of your customer and just worry about you making money for yourself? Worst restaurant experience I have ever had!!! Unethical practices!!!

My new favorite Mexican restaurant! Delicious traditional Mexican food and drinks along with outstanding service: PERFECTO! For starters, the chips and salsa were exactly the way I like them…fresh hot chips with salsa that had the perfect consistency (not too chunky and not watery), fresh cilantro and just the right amount of heat. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita that I can easily say was THE BEST I have ever had in my life! It came in a large size traditional glass with a perfect balance of tequila, triple sec and lime juice mixed with absolutely delicious strawberry…YUM! If they weren’t closing I would’ve ordered another! For dinner I ordered one of the Tequila Vientiuno Favorites called the “Pollo Vallarta” which promptly arrived on their signature serving paddle beautifully displayed with a hefty portion of their marinated Tequila 21 chicken breast topped with 5 jumbo sized grilled shrimp, along with sautéed red and green bell peppers and onions, refried beans, Mexican red rice and 4 warm tortillas. The chicken was sliced thin and was oh so tender with such a delicious marinated flavor. The shrimp was perfectly grilled and was a surprisingly good combination along with the chicken. Our server was friendly and so very cordial and accommodating, anticipating our every need, and he was patiently attentive as we took longer than usual to decide what we wanted. Despite going there 40 minutes before closing, we were welcomed and didn’t feel rushed in any way. Everything was perfect! I can’t wait to go back!

I hate leaving bad reviews but I had an experience that was handled poorly by the owner I think I should share. I was coming here about 3x a week ordering food to go. The food is very good, but I will not be coming back anymore.

Short story: they gave our to go order to another customer, called him and told him to bring it back, and then gave it to us. When we asked if they gave us food that another customer already drove away with, they lied and tried to cover it up. The owner orchestrated all of this but then reprimanded the teenage host as if it were her fault.

Long story: We placed our to go order at 5:02pm. We got there around 5:15 to pick it up, right after another customer picked up their food. After we paid, the hostesses and owner called that customer back to tell him he got the wrong food. He brought it back in and they gave him his correct order. The hostess then brought the food back into the kitchen, waited a couple minutes, then brought it back out to us.

They never told us that they gave our food to another customer. We waited 40 minutes for our food but they acted like nothing happened.

As we were driving away, we thought maybe they had given us the food that had already been given to another customers instead of re-making it. I called to ask and they said they have to ask the kitchen. I told her, “well shouldn’t you know because you would have had to ring it in again?” And she said no, I just went back and told them and then they used the same ticket from the old food and put it in the new bag and that the old food was still sitting back there in the kitchen. It was so obviously a lie.

So I went back in and asked to see the old food or somehow be ensured that I was not getting food that has been in someone else’s car.

The owner seemed extremely annoyed by this. She told me she wasn’t sure what happened and that she had to go ask them. She brought my food back to the kitchen to do so. Then she came back out and said she was so sorry, that was exactly what happened and it should never happen.

Once food hits a table or is given to another customer, it should NEVER be re-served to someone else.

So she told me they were going to start making my food but it would be a little while. At this point I had been waiting 45 minutes already. So I told her nevermind, I just want a refund. Since she brought my food back to the kitchen, I just don’t believe they were going to re-make it. That’s what they should have done the first time if they wanted to do the right thing. Instead they wanted to act like we are dumb and can’t figure out what was going on. When I said I wanted a refund, the owner got pissed and wouldn’t even look at me. She told the hostess to refund me but was obviously annoyed by my request.

As I was getting refunded by one hostess, the owner sat there reprimanding the other young teenage host. The thing is - yes, she made the initial mistake of handing the wrong order to someone. But that was a simple mistake. No big deal. It was the owner who orchestrated being sneaky and lying. She should have told us what happened immediately, started remaking our food, and maybe threw in some free queso for the inconvenience of waiting.

The owner did not want to lose out on $43 so she did something very dirty and illegal and then reprimanded the poor girl as if this whole thing were her fault.

Now she lost $43 and a...
