I want to start off by saying we go to NYY at least once a week, or used to at this point. We had no problem with the quality of food until some unprofessionalism last night that made us not want to go back. NYY was for once slow not busy, open tables, and staff walking around. We had our usual reservations 8:30pm and still had to wait 15 minutes for us to be guided into an empty dining room. We order two burgers and a salad. Pretty simple order hamburger no cheese. After waiting 2 hour for our food (YES that long), we started noticing that people were complaining on where their food was and why it was taking to long. Finally we get our burgers an of course one of the burgers had cheese. Since my husband doesn’t eat cheese for dietary reasons we sent it back. As I had a clear view of the kitchen I watched a food runner with no gloves messing with my husbands burger. I said I think they might be pulling the cheese off instead of making you a new one, as our waiter stood and watched them. 4 minutes later the burger comes back with no cheese on the top but still on the side. We asked the waiter are you kidding me, they scraped the cheese off and they threw it back on the grill to cook? He said nothing, I said you were standing there no? He said yes they pulled it off. I said thank god he is isn’t allergic or you guys would have been screwed, how disgusting is this. He went and got the manager and we told him what happen, and that this was shady. The manager said I don’t know what they do in the kitchen but I can make you a new one and will take it off the bill. (This should have been done in the first place however we spent more time going back and fourth on the screwed up burger and it was rolling up to 10:45pm). The manager said he would “yell at the kitchen manager”. We watched him enter the kitchen walk around and then came back out to our table telling us he spoke to him. So no one was spoken to about anything he just made a circle. Now, let me get this straight, this expensive restaurant with meat hanging in a cooler on display when you walk in, priced at full high market value couldn’t put a new patty of ground beef on the grill since they MESSED up in the first place? Such unprofessional response of I don’t know what they do in the kitchen, aren’t you one team? Aren’t you the dang restaurant manager? And furthermore you say I will take your meal off the bill, well yeah you should because we didn’t eat it. Even Duffys would make you a new burger but this place can’t? Put the Hardrock restaurants in coconut creek, at least that’s worth spending the money on quality food and service, not second hand scraping trying to cover mistakes! Needless to say we are done with NYY. I will make sure I remind my clients and friends to second guess before making...
Read moreI previously had a wonderful experience here which was 5 stars during the COVID pandemic with my family. My sons were craving for Japanese Wagyu steak, which was why we went again. The second time around, the service was absolutely horrible. My family ordered 2 8-ounce A5 Japanese Wagyu steaks from a Japanese prefecture as well as the house burger and an entree salad along with 3 sides (mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and creamed corn). The entree salad came out right away. That was for my wife. We figured our entrees would have been shortly out. We waited another 90 minutes before complaining to the manager about our food and about how other tables were being seated after us and being served their food before us. That served as the impetus for the our food to come out. It was all cold. The steaks were dry, as if they had been wiped of all oil and kept idle for more than one hour. The macaroni and cheese was completely desiccated, with absolutely no sauce. It was almost impossible to choke down. The creamed corn was full of water and ice cold. The mashed potatoes was not flavored with garlic and chives but just plain old potatoes mashed into a puree. And the house burger was also ice cold. It was very clear the food had been lying around for more than an hour prior to being served to us. We ordered some of the most expensive items on the menu and we were served it more than an hour after it was ready. Further, while we were waiting, I ordered the barrel aged house old fashioned, which was supposed to have special garnishing and a chocolate sugar rim. The first one they brought had no garnishing and no chocolate rim. It was a plain simply made old fashioned with probably the cheapest bourbon they could find. I complained that the old fashioned looked nothing like what was described. They said they would get me another. The second one was the same as the first with a brown sugar rim, not a chocolate rim. I do not understand why we were targeted for such horrible treatment. We returned the sides, as they were inedible and had to choke down the garbage they brought us. I was hoping to end the night with an extravagant dessert. But we did not want to wait another 2 hours to be served stale old garbage. The manager did take off the house salad and the sides as well as $100. But at a sum total of close to $300 for a horrible experience with horrible food and an over 2 hour wait for our food after ordering it, it is something that we will not be doing again. The manager said that she promised our next experience would be better. Why would we ever come back to be treated like trash again??? I could have easily gone to a better steakhouse in Boca Ratón or Fort Lauderdale and gotten better food and better service at a...
Read moreThe most attention I received was to tell me there was no smoking at the bar lol I was inquiring about eating at the bar mind you there were 10 empty seats around me while I was holding my cigarette out towards the machines as I was ambushed to be told smoking was permitted 5 feet away from me at the high tops.I got rid of the cigarette promptly. I sat down and asked if the Mets game could be put on one of the tv's the bartender said yes but it might be a while and it would help if I knew what Chanel I told him tbs and they took off the devils game and put the Mets. Every time I asked for something I was told in a minute or when I have time I felt like I was getting a favor to be served. I asked for a menu and a bottled beer I wanted a glass but couldn't get eye contact to ask for one finally a server came into the bar area and I asked her she looked at me finished making the drink she was preparing and gave me achiiled glass I sad thank you you rock! She walked away and said nothing it just felt weird.
