Everything about Sette Mezzo Ristorante screams 3 words: Authentic - Italian - Couples .. and I might add, please make a reservation, even just for one person, as I did: you may need it. Definitely, this is the place for date night, not a meal for one, which I was. Actually, I had the only table for 2 in the restaurant .. I sat in the middle so you’d remember the only gal sitting alone! They offered to sit me in the private room, but at the time, there would’ve only been me – what’s the fun in that??? 6:15pm and the restaurant was already full and stayed that way till 7, then a little slowing, then, back to being full again. It is small and the tables are close together, so you’re not going to have much of a private conversation .. if there was music, I never heard it until I sat outside (they have outdoor seating) at the end of my meal. Melinda, my server, was spectacular. She even let me show her a few things about authentic Italian cooking, ie when you slice into Lasagna, nothing should spill out of the sides. When you slice into a meatball, it should remain firm: This meal did not disappoint on any check for authenticity. She was kind to space out my serving of meatballs (3 large, took home two), Lasagna and Rose to begin the meal. I sat 18” from the chef/owner all night (2 hrs), as he worked the serving counter and my table was right there! I was quite impressed with how well he handled the dinner rush & treated his guests, but especially, how he treated his staff. It was a busy night – only one table had 1 person. They could’ve been rushed / stressed but they were not. All were well-trained. These are not just off-the-street-looking-for-a-job but well-versed in Italian dining servers. I ordered a margherita pizza to go and everyone @ home loved it. Direct from their brick oven, it was well-prepared, seasoned and authentic. Personal for me: For me, it was too loud – like being @ a bar (yes, they have a bar, actually, quite long, and it was full all night). I could’ve heard people sitting at my table but nothing else. As I said, I don’t know if the music was only outside or inside, but no need inside – all you can hear is who is sitting next to you. I would’ve appreciated more space among tables. It really was crowded but that speaks well to their reputation and many people don’t mind sitting to close to others, or the loudness but for me, recovering from an illness, well .. too much for me. I use a walker and needed to leave it @ the front of the restaurant. The staff helped me out, carried my leftovers and let me hold on to them as I walked toward my walker. Everyone treated me like royalty. Prices on Open Table were not at all correct – the Lasagna was $26, not, as advertised, $18. That is not the restaurant’s error. I will go back one night for another special occasion to have the Zuppa de Pesce .. Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops and other white fish. $56 [6/11/2023] and it seemed well-worth it. Can be shared. Oh, watching the Chef cook homemade spaghetti in his freshly made Cheese Wheel was the highlight .. everyone on the restaurant stared in amazement. Go .. run .. to Sette Mezzo....
Read moreMy husband and I just moved next door. We have ordered take out from here several times and love the pizza and food. We've eaten in at the restaurant on 3 separate occasions. Each time we have experienced an issue. This last visit will unfortunately be our LAST visit. Our server Faith was phenomenal let me just say. She sold me on the soccatini with an add of chicken. In the past I typically only have the soccatini. We waited a little over 30 minutes and were then notified that the restaurant no longer had soccatini and if I would be interested in the penne aka vodka. I told her not to worry about it and calmly accepted the alternate and also being told 30 minutes after the fact. She advised the manager would comp our meal (which we did not even ask her to do in the first place). She then came to us again and said the manager would like to give us a round of wine that we were drinking or dessert. We opted for another glass to accompany our extremely late meal ($34 for penne all a vodka). The manager still had not come or apologized or came to our table. Once the check arrived however, she had no problem picking up our money. To which we then notified her that our meal had not been comped. She then advised it's only the meal OR the 2 glasses of wine. She stated "it's one or the other, you choose". We were a bit shocked but her tone and her statement as we were not at all looking for anything free. We simply repeated what we were told by or server. She then gave us extreme attitude and said "you ate it though". Unfortunately for her....I did not eat the meal, and the entire meal was actually placed in a to go box which was on the table right in front of her. She never once apologized, raised her voice with us, and then yelled off "you ate it though" as she walked away like a spoiled child. The lack of professionalism is appalling. Any manager should be held to a certain standard of respect and professionalism. If this is how she speaks with patrons I could only imagine how she treats her employees. No wonder the retention rate is so high. I sincerely hope the manager takes management classes and hospitality 101. Her sense of entitlement is astonishing. As business owners ourselves, I wouldn’t fathom treating our customers in this manner nor would I ever train management to ensue these types of tactics in a resolution of an internal error. The correct behavior of a manager would be to take accountability and rectify the situation. With management like this, I'm sure she won't last long. Please learn how to properly deal with clientele when you're in the hospitality industry. Also, we left your all the penne alla vodka meal that "I ate though" on the table and also tipped the sweet waitress despite your short comings as a...
Read moreReally wanted some Italian food and like any other person we read reviews first, of course I saw some bad reviews and what really stood out to me the most was the rude disrespectful responses from the owner towards their past customers in which believed to have felt like they got bad service, and honestly I don’t think I’ll ever come here because of the disrespect that he/she showed in their response back to these clients that are only sharing their experience. (Because that’s what reviews are for!) I don’t know how you have a restaurant, I don’t think you should have a restaurant to serve people if you don’t know how to be respectful and show a positive character instead of sending out negative and nasty remarks because YOU didn’t like what they said about your restaurant. we already have plenty of negativity out in this world! Anyways I wonder what nastiness you are going to write after this review so I’ll end this with something positive ☺️ I wish you and your business great luck and I hope on day that you stop treating people the way you have just because they did not enjoy their experience that is why people leave reviews in hopes that you can better yourself and your restaurant and not be so disrespectful to people that came and gave you business already! All the best to you and I really hope you get your anger in check. (Below I have posted photos of the owners responses to past guests that helped him with is Resturant already - Also hope the owner can take the time to reevaluate him or herself and learn about hospitality and customer service) ✌🏽”MANNERS AND ETIQUETTE, IT’S ABOUT HOSPITALITY...
