Star Wine & Spirits XXI — Local services in Coconut Creek

So 2 years ago i gave this place 5 stars. But I have to rescind this review. I would have given them a zero if possible.

My narrative is as follows: My family and I have been patronizing this place since 2013.

I noticed the little short stock guy follows certain people around the store, asking if they need assistance but never thought much about it...

My husband told me that little guy follows him around the store all the time, I believed him.

2 months ago, i walked in simultaneously with a white guy, and the person at the cash register today stopped what he was doing and followed me, asking if i needed assistance. I said no thanks but didn't like it. Why didn't he follow that guy?

TODAY, 7/29/23, my daughter and I walked to pick a bottle and the little stock guy was underneath the cash register area stocking items.

We said hi and my daughter walked towards what she wanted coz she's pretty oriented to the store. I was behind her and the minute i turned around that little guy was a foot behind me invading my space....

I had to ask him why he was following us.. He said "can I help you?". I said we're okay, don't need assistance. My daughter knows what she wants. I asked him to get away from me as he was in my face.

Instead of backing off, little man started arguing with me. His counterpart had a grin on his face. I looked at him and told him bad business practice.. Still a grin look. I said to him we're not thieves, we've patronized them for years. He acknowledged.

At that time i called my daughter and told her we were leaving. They don't deserve our business.

I felt discriminated, criminalized by a franchise that my family and I have supported for years. REALLY 😥

NOT ANYMORE Star...

I found a rare, top-shelf bottle of bourbon marked at a tremendous sale price today. When it rang up at the register, it was full price. The gentleman at the register explained that it must have been misplaced on the shelf and that his cost exceeded that price. After a few minutes of respectful conversation, he agreed to honor the sale price. GREAT decision brother! You made a long term customer today, and here I am singing your praises for everyone to read. I hope when people read this, it will help influence their decision to buy from your store.
