My family and I decided to make a short 29 minute drive from a nearby town to try this place after hearing from others about their "awesome homemade food". We visited at 6:00pm on Thursday and were told it was .99 cent kids meals for a special! That's always a plus when you have kids who are picky eaters anyway.
Well, let's just get right into it.
First issue was almost every table in the place appeared to be crooked and wobbly. The waitress even commented that they were all in bad shape. She folded up a used beer carton to place under the legs to attempt to help cure the unstableness.
The appetizer we ordered was Fried Pickles. They were breaded very thick and literally soaked with oil. Enough oil that when you bit into one, oil would run down your face.
The kids both ordered Mac and Cheese. Hoping for something possibly homemade but it was just good old Kraft Mac and Cheese. As soon as they started eating it, the both complained it was cold. I personally thought they were just being picky kids, but they weren't kidding. It was cold and you could tell it was pre-made and just reheated and whoever fixed it, just didn't nuke it in the microwave long enough.
My wife ordered the Chicken Strip basket and fries. The chicken was good quality, but was just like the appetizer, was soaked in oil. And the fries were the same story.
I decided to order a "homemade" bacon cheeseburger with a house baked, fresh bun. The burger was disappointing to say the least. It was overcooked and every ounce of juice was gone. The bun did appear to be homemade but was unfortunately very dry and flaked apart, leaving me with a bunless burger. Oh, and I don't want to fail to mention I ordered some grilled jalapenos for my burger which ended up costing an additional one dollar!!! The fries that accompanied my burger were also home sliced but along with everything else fried, they were to soaked in grease.
Do yourselves a favor and spend your money elsewhere. There are far better choices for a real homemade, valuable dining experience in the...
Read moreWill never eat there again. The young lady behind bar told the day's special. She said 7" and salad, Sounded good to my husband. I am gluten free so I had little to choose from. I ordered the 8 oz. Steak salad on mixed bed of greens. My husband ordered special, waitress asked "barbecue, hot, or honey mustard" ? Hum odd chose for 7 " pizza but my husband just rolled with it and said hot. She asked what salad dressing would he like, blue cheese. She stated it comes with a side, would you like tater tots, fries or onion rings? He replied onion rings. We both had no clue what she was going to serve him, so we thought maybe she meant 7 piece hot wings..made since.
Food was served my, 8 oz steak cut in tiny bits (not 8 oz) on a bed of iceberg, no mixed greens to be found . Husband received a pulled pork sandwich with a side of onion rings and blue cheese dressing. What was he suppose to use the dressing for? So I asked the waitress, I thought you said today's special was 7 " with salad, she laughed said I had my days wrong that was Wednesday special but she never informed us on the change before or during order, it was Friday so I guess the special was pulled pork with a side and salad dressing, mind you no salad. We never received a refill on our water nor was asked if we would like a refill. Needless to say never again. First and last time to ever eat...
Read moreI would consider my husband and myself as foodies. We love to try new things. However this was not a good choice. At 1155 we (a group of 6, myself included) walked in. We ordered our drunks and food by 1210ish. At 1250 we still didn't have our food. When it came out it was burnt/overcooked and dry. Our order for everybody consisted of the following: calf fries and tater kegs, 2 trey burgers one with tots and the other with onion rings, chrispy chicken sandwich with tots, mushroom burger with a salad, and a bbq sandwich and i cant remember the side. Calf fries should be a tad crunchy on the outside and tender. These were rock hard and way overcooked. My tater tots were burnt tasting and so crunchy i could hardly break them, and I could just go on and on. Now the place wasn't busy or at least to me it wasn't. 3 tables were all that was occupied. I am just very disappointed and I do not recommend going there if you have somewhere to be. I'd give it...
