I promised myself I wasn’t going to eat out this week. I was going to be good and eat at home all (work) week. But no! Here comes Yvana texting asking if I want to go out to eat. I was trying my hardest to say no butttttttttt… she said PIZZA and you know that is the magic word for me. Ok, don’t judge me. Ha!!!!
I did a search for Deep Dish pizza and discovered Seataliano's Pizza & Pasta. As it wasn’t too far from us, we agreed on 8pm and it was in motion.
Be advised, GPS might take you to the back street, however, Seataliano's Pizza & Pasta sits directly on Main Street in Downtown College Park. Due to the location, not only is it convenient for those on Marta, there is also street parking for free.
Walking in, the restaurant is hugeeeeeee and spacious. The floors and tables are very clean and the overall environment is simple. There is art around the walls which add a dose of creativity and visual draw, otherwise, it’s brown and simple. Getting to the counter, the menu has all the fixings of a pizza joint. Pasta, Salads, Calzones, you know the line up. As I wanted a Deep Dish, I was slightly perturbed that my only crust options were traditional or thin, however, I love pizza so I was ready to order. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I ordered a 10” Pepperoni Pizza - Well Done.
The pizza was made fresh but the wait wasn’t too long. When I opened the box my stomach started to smile. LoL. The visual presentation of the pizza itself let you know it was going to be good.
It was well done as I requested. The sauce had a smooth texture and was well seasoned. The cheese was spot on to allow for the perfect crust to cheese ratio. Though I would have appreciated a few more pepperoni for the $11 price point, there was at least one on every slice. The dough wasn’t doughy but had a good crunch on the edge while keeping the middle soft.
Though I was in the mood for a Deep Dish, this Traditional Hand Crust hit the spot. Next time I’m getting a large....
Read moreDisclaimer My review is based primarily on the service and implied undertone when bringing an issue to the person taking the order. It is only partly based on the food, specifically the wings.
For starters, I ordered pizza and wings. The pizza was flavorful and good, but not as hot as I would have expected coming straight from the oven, but it was acceptable.
The wings on the other hand, were fried hard, dry, and had zero flavor minus the sauce. The chicken was very clearly not seasoned, and the sauce was expected to bring the meat full circle.
When I took the wings back and tried to explain to the person taking the orders my issue of them being hard and dry, the response I received was "the people in the area like them that way. 95% of our customers in the area ask for them that way so thats how we cook them" and "you should have said something when you ordered that you didnt want them that way".
Firstly, I didnt know I was supposed to preface my order by stating that I DID NOT want my wings fried hard. Normally, that is a request that you ask them TO DO when ordering, not the other way around. Secondly, your establishment is in a pre-dominantly african-american area, as I am also AfAm. So the implication that ALL BLACK PEOPLE like their chicken fried hard was where I took offense.
Lastly, the person taking the orders snatched the bag from me stating he was busy and with attitude and haste, asked me "what did you have, fine, it'll be 10 mins".
VERY POOR customer service and the insinuation of a collective agreement of how hard to fry chicken clearly based on race, has turned me off. But the...
Read moreMy kids and I walked over to the restaurant from our hotel. I thought it would be a busy area at 9:00 pm on a Friday with all the restaurants on that little strip. Even though there were cars parked along the street, there was hardly anyone out. When we walked into the restaurant, it was completely empty except for one guy waiting on a carry-out. All of the chairs were up on the tables and it looked as if they were closing for the night even though their sign said they closed at 4 a.m. We went in, anyway, and Natalia, the girl at the register welcomed us with a smile. She said she'd take our order and we could seat ourselves and she'd put the chairs back when we were done. Again, I'm thinking that they're ready to go home and with the large menu selection, I was a little worried about the quality of food we'd get, but we went ahead and ordered. Margherita pizza, Cheese pizza, grilled chicken Alfredo, Mozzarella sticks, Mac and cheese jalapeño poppers, and I one other thing that I can't recall right now. The kitchen got it out pretty quickly and it was all VERY FRESH and good. Thank you to Natalia and the boys in the kitchen for staying and taking the time to prepare us...
