Bubba's 33 — Restaurant in College Station

I wanna start off saying I'm very disappointed in the experience I had tonight but I will be trying bubba's again. I hope tonight was just a mistake. My husband and I waited 10 minutes to be called, once called we waited another 10 minutes until we were seated. (It wasn't a terrible wait at all) Once seated we were told our server was held up with a large table so another waitress took our drink and appetizer order. Shortly after this we had a manager came over and apologize for our original server delayed. My husband has worked as a manager/gm in restaurants for over 10 years and is now a manger for banquets at well established business so we understand how it goes, it was truly not an issue. We try to be the easiest table a server can have wherever we go because my husband understands what's it like. We received some waters within a timely manner but our actual drinks (one beer on tap and lemonade) and our appetizer (just some basic cheese fries) never came. We waited for 40 minutes from the time we got our waters before we ended up leaving. We notified the manager on duty tonight of the issue and she just smiled and apologized but didn't offer anything nor say much. We spent over an hour at this establishment just to be disappointed. I will say this as a pregnant woman with a husband in the industry, i just couldn't believe the service. Somebody needs to reevaluate the layout for the server sections (there was a main server, a blond girl serving majority of our section but the girl that was supposed to take care of us was burnett and we seemed to have been her only table in this section) and make sure whoever is on the floor during busy nights is experienced. Our poor server did seem very very overwhelmed and very very young, she over all seemed to not be very experienced. I truly felt bad for her trying to deal with so much on such a busy night. It was Mother’s Day and a graduation weekend. That shouldn’t have hampered good service. Four stars would be almost perfect. I can’t do that. When I went, the establishment had been open a few months. The place was not hopping when I went so there was really no excuse for my food order being delayed when all I ordered was wings and beer at the bar. The beer was served with a smiling face and my area prepped for food and yet I was never checked back on but seen.

At 7:43 I ordered my food. At 8:33 I finally received it after asking what was holding it up. In about 10 minutes, it was brought to me, luke warm, by someone not from the bar area. I got a short apology from the original bar staff and never saw her again. Que será será

I’ve been to other Bubbas and I must say the food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. After speaking with a training store, I learned it took a few months for them to get it all right themselves. So wanting to be fair, this one in College Station will probably come along since it’s a chain; so there’s hope. 😉

I had the raspberry chipotle wings and pickle appetizers. There is no dry rub. It was tasty but in no way was it warm or hot with flavor. More sweet than anything. I’ve also tasted the habanero and it is nowhere near hot. The inside of this sports bar is laid out similar to the others: bar, dining inside and an outside patio area that is enclosed. The outside patio area seemed rather blasé and in need of some atmosphere. The bar area is a bit obnoxious with the registers in your face. Perhaps I’m just a bit sour because I was right there and yet forgotten. 😉

First time at Bubba’s 33 Our server was very friendly. Shout out to Leo Salazar! He made us feel welcome and kept coming back to chat with us. The place was packed full house guest waiting outside when we pulled in. They had you sign in for a waiting list But the waiting list was only 15-20 mins so we waited. We all ordered drinks and appetizer’s to start. All of the drinks were amazing. Our favorites were the strawberry lemonade with fresh strawberries and black berry lemonade which came topped with blackberries. We started with loaded fries and chorizo w cheese dip came with chips and salsa to dip. Meals we tried were the steak w mash potatoes and broccoli. , California chicken with broccoli and came on a bed of garden rice. The rice had a sweet taste I didn’t care for but the broccoli was delicious. The lasagna with loaded tots on the side. The lasagna was a huge portion as well. Burger with fries and wings which I didn’t get a picture. But their burger was huge. My son only was able to eat half. The wings were huge too and her side of mash potatoes she especially enjoyed saying “ they were the best she ever had” also tried the shrimp pasta w Mac & cheese on the side and a Oreo brownie w ice cream to go! Came w chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Definitely get your moneys worth here. We expected to get a large bill but were surprised it was reasonable. It did take a long time for us to get our food but that’s expected since they are the new restaurant in town and graduations going on everyone is out celebrating. We will definitely be back to try out some more...
