I tried this restaurant for the third time since the opening and immediately it took my waiter 20 mins to actually get our drinks out to our table. We then proceeded to order food and my friend asked if she could add vegetables in the quesadilla and the waiter told us they cannot bc the quesadillas are premade the day before and get warmed up when u order them so ofc she didn’t order that.I then ordered my drink which was a double coconut rum w pineapple juice and strawberry grenadine the waiter looked at me crazy and asked me to tell the main bartender my order bc she didn’t understand how to ring it in so i proceeded to do so and she grabbed a receipt paper and wrote my order down to then ask me how much juice to put and how to make the drink.I have bartended 5 plus years and know that u simply pour the liquor then top it off with pineapple juice and strawberry grenadine very simple and have never paid more than $8 -$12 for that specific drink. When she brought my ticket I was charged $19.98 for the one mixed drink so I asked the bartender and she said it’s wrong the waiter should’ve edited my ticket bc I didn’t get straight shots so she would get the manager. We waited at the bar for at least 5 mins for the manager to look at me and say the drink is correct is should be $20 and that she couldn’t edit it bc that’s how much it cost and didn’t care to break it down for me and let me know why it cost so much when a large marg was $13.Customer service was very rude and the two waiters proceeded to point and laugh at our table and neither made an effort to clear up the confusion with the miscommunication on anything.Definitely will not be going back again.

This place is a total embarrassment to College Station's endless options for Tex-Mex. Once I saw the Fajitas for 2 was almost $37, my soul lifted out of my body. If you want two tacos with rice and beans, get ready to spend $11.99. The house margaritas are $7.99 for a small and $10.99 for a large (the glass size can be deceiving, too, as the waitress would not tell me an ounce difference). The chips and salsa were straight from a bag like everyone else is mentioning. Flavorless salsas. I unfortunately ordered the smoked brisket enchiladas and had to send them back. I have never sent food back in my life! It was as if I bought prepackaged brisket from HEB and threw it in some prepackaged tortillas. I sent it back to get the El Mario (beef enchiladas with gravy) like my mother and they made sure to make them from scratch. They were edible but my mother said the gravy reminded her of Wolf Chili. There was nothing special about the rice or the beans. The only thing that got me through the meal was the margarita. I'm very surprised the manager didn't come talk to us about the brisket enchiladas...the waitress said "the manager went to the kitchen to see what happened." No, he didn't -- he walked around the bar area unperturbed. $65 dollars later and we are both feeling beyond nauseous. Boycott this place. I miss Ninfa's!

I'm going to be generous and give this place 3 stars, chaulking up alot of the shortcomings up to being newly opened. We arrived at 5 pm and there were 3 groups of people waiting to be seated even though there were at least 20 tables/boothes unoccupied. The wait was only 7-8 minutes but I thought this was odd, but no big deal. The chips come with a red salsa (a bit spicy) and a green one (almost completely flavorless). I ordered the La Maria, which is a crispy beef taco, pork tamale, cheese enchilada and a Chile Relleno. The taco was good, the tamale was above average. Now it goes downhill. The cheese enchilada was just average. The Chile Relleno was undercooked, the pepper's skin was very tough still. The rice was crunchy and obviously undercooked. The refried beans were watery and had a taste that I honestly can't describe. I'm not sure if they burned them and then tried adding water or it was some new spice that I've never had in the million times that I've eaten refried beans. If you're thinking of giving this place a try, I would suggest waiting a month or so to see if they can get over their growing pains. Or maybe this place just isn't very good.

I've been meaning to write this for a long while. Honestly, I liked this place much more when it was on the River Walk in San Antonio. Say what you will about tourist traps, but it was a good place and everyone was super friendly. Drinks were good and so was the food. The manager was a friend of mine for years, and I was super excited when they opened this location. I even have a shirt from the San Antonio Location, I was a big fan.

It's not the food is bad, it's not. It's just that in College Station the food is mediocre for the cost you are going to pay. It used to frankly be much better when this location first opened. The biggest negative is the price for the quality you get, and the quality is worse than it used to be.

Now, however, I have spoken to multiple people and we all agree that something changed about the atmosphere. People used to be more friendly and welcoming, but then, people change, I guess. I also have heard stories about the kind of behavior they allow between their employees as well, so that tracks with the attitude that some people have.

I would say if you want to try this place it's worth at least one go if you are in the area and have the money to spend. Don't expect the best bang for your buck though, and if the reviews as of recent are accurate, don't expect the best service either.

Unlike many other establishments where other servers will help out if someone is just sitting there they have a system where they each keep to their own and if you are missed, you get to just sit there and wait.

Even if there are only say, two tables being worked and more than one server available while the other server is clearly engaged with the other table. The work environment from what I know is very Darwinian, even at the expense of the customer.

I would like to add that this review is for the customer's benefit rather than an attempt to change anything. When someone posts an angry review the most that will happen is that they will pin it all on one person and nothing will actually change.

All things eventually will have a time they have seen better days. This applies to businesses and the people running...

Our server I think was new, and the place was super busy. She and all her coworkers were bustling around, so the wait time made sense. We waited about 20 minutes to be sat, given the patron volume that actually seemed really fast. They found a nice booth that was large enough to keep my service dog out of the way of the foot traffic, which I greatly appreciated.

We ordered the ceviche as an app... DO NOT ORDER THIS. My fiance and I both LOVE ceviche, and this was incredibly overpowered with lime. You can't taste anything but lime, and it burns your mouth, eyes, and stomache when you eat it (This coming from someone who loves lime margarita and mexican mules). As it was a new location we were trying we did not comlplain and just asked if it was meant to be that strongly lime flavored. The waitress told us then that a lot of people complain about it and she personally had never tried it because of that (which would have been nice to know prior to ordering it). We asked that she take it away and she did have it removed from the bill, which was very kind of her as we both understood that having tried somewhere new we were liable for the costs. The main dishes were fine. Nothing to write home about. It was not nearly good enough for what they charge and we were both unenthused by the quality. For desert he got the cheesecake (cannot go wrong with a cheesecake) and I got the fried ice cream... idk how but it tasted incredibly burnt. It was honestly really bad. Frozen completely solid, it didnt start to thaw until I got it home 20 minutes later and started to break it up for my dogs to have in their dinner bowls. Which, its ice cream, so i get that it's supposed to be cold and frozen, but that was like trying to cut into a frozen lake in Norther Wisconsin (which i happen to be familiar with), if you haven't experienced that, there are reasons they use chain saws... Overall, we won't be back. The food was very expensive for the flavors you receive and both of us were unenthused...
