Pumpkin Delights: Spoiler alert, these are my favorite seasonal snacks from Little Debbie. They’re soft, chewy, sweet, and full of delicious pumpkin flavor (along with hints of cinnamon/spice). Basically a pumpkin flavored cookie. Thankfully the “spice” flavor is muted and not in your face (I prefer less spice and more of a pumpkin pie flavor to my pumpkin treats). The orange gel used for the eyes and mouth does not add to the flavor, it’s more for decoration. Some of the cookies were done very well with the eyes and mouth looking just like on the box, but a few looked pretty bad (too scary to show). They Pair great with a cup of pumpkin spice coffee or be like the Doughboy and take these cookies up a notch by adding cream cheese frosting/icing to them.
My Favorite Little Debbie snacks: Nutty Buddy Bars Honey Buns Peanut Butter Creme Pies Pumpkin Delights
Oatmeal Crème Pie: Little Debbie introduced theses as their first (of many) snacks in 1960. The concept is simple, two oatmeal cookies layered with cream in the center. Each cookie is comprised of whole grain oats, molasses, and a sweet irresistible creme filling. Although taste is subjective, almost every list ranking Little Debbie snacks includes these and Nutty Buddy Bars towards the top. Objectively, these are one of the top selling Little Debbie treats. The flavor is a combination of buttery oats and sweet cream. Outshining the somewhat bland flavor is the texture though. Each cookie was perfectly soft & chewy and although they were not sticky they did have a little grease from all that fat. In the context of Little Debbie snacks/packaged treats these are Doughboy approved (though they do leave something to be desired when compared to “real”...
Read moreWe stopped here passing through on our way to Florida. The shop is not open on Saturdays. We came on a Sunday, and it was packed just after opening at 10am. There are many novelty items for purchase on the right hand side of the store. With a discount section. On the left hand side, are all of the snack cake options. There were many I had never seen or heard of before. Most were priced at $2.39 a box. Larger boxes ranged from $4-$6 and then for the largest packs, I want to say they were $9-12. There are also markdown/discount sections in the snack foods. Red lines, black lines, and special tags. This makes the 60% off and less. There are breads/buns as well for $1.40-$2. They were running a special, when you spend $25 you got a free big box of donut sticks. The staff working were very friendly and helpful. At the checkouts they are free samples as well. I was over the moon excited when I found the Drakes cherry pies as I can not find them at home and they are my favorite snack. If you can, I highly recommend taking the time to stop in and get...
Read moreUnbelievable discounts on loads of Little Debbie snacks! Define "Unbelievable"? $1.50 for a box of 20 large fudge rounds. 🤗 My family of 5 and I packed our little buggy so full of a variety of snakcs that donut bags were falling off.the sides. We still left paying less than $25 and had a trunk full of everything Little Debbie sells, stuff I hadn't seen since I was a kid in the 80's. The place is loaded with happy nom-nom's. This is one of those places you have to visit at least once in your life. The exterior fooled me for years, then my wife finally got me in there. Now, that's where I, and our kids, ask to go at least every other weekend. It's one of the south's hidden gems. I had heard about it for years, but I had no idea. Then I walked through those beautiful doors, my waist was never the same and my belly, and my wallet, have never been happier! 😋
They are closed on Saturday but open on Sundays because Collegedale is a 7th Day Adventist community....
