Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Collierville

I have yet to have pleasant experience with this place and I LOVE NEWKS. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza with light sauce and I received a pepperoni pizza(thank goodness I checked it before I left). Then I was given the correct pizza however it looked like it had been dropped and pieced back together. It was remade and looked exactly the same with no basil garnished on top like the menu clearly says. I decided to give them another try on a different day and during a different time. This time a got half a sandwich and a cup of potato soup. The sandwich was surprisingly fine however the soup looked and tasted as if it came straight from a can. The potatoes weren't cooked fully and it was not garnished with sour cream, bacon and chives. I used to eat at Newks 2-3 times a week when I resided in Jackson, MS so I know what my food is supposed to look and taste like and taste like. Last time I checked presentation is everything and this Newks has yet to present anything that is worth me spending my money or wasting my gas on. Also, the manager was NOT very nice or professional about the pizza mishap. I'm not sure if he needs additional training with customer satisfaction or not. I always give Newk's a 5 star rating but this time I was disappointed. When I saw them on the map not too far away from my hotel I skipped all the closer places and went there as I love their food. However, while the guy taking my order was very nice and quick, the choose two sandwich and salad took over 15 minutes for me to get. The aggravating part was that at one point 3 people behind the counter were checking their phones and chatting. They weren't understaffed!

Then, when I arrived at my hotel I found there were no tomatoes on my Greek salad. I LOVE tomatoes, typically order extra on my salads anywhere, but didn't as I know Newk's generally has a good portion. But - no tomatoes at all.

Very messy, very disorganized. We arrived around 1:30pm and there were several folks in line that had been waiting for over 20 minutes. There was trash on nearly all of the tables where guests were not sitting. All of the online orders were disorganized judging by the frustration of those that came to grab orders on time. We ended up waiting 35 minutes for two sandwiches and a soup. If our food had not been up to par, this would be a 1 star review. They need a better daytime line manager than the guy they had.
