Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Collingdale

Stopped here on St Paddy's Day 2019, excited for the first custard of the year. My boyfriend noticed a huge poster outside this storefront advertising something called a " Shamrockcicle"... looked like mint chocolate chip cream ice with chocolate custard. So, it's St Patrick's Day to begin with and both the chocolate custard and mint chip cream ice are both listed as available on the board listing Today's Flavors. I order my own custard, he steps up to order this Shamrock jawn and the chick just stares at us. After repeating the name of the thing three times and telling her it's advertised on the side of the building, she's still looking at us like we have six heads. She turns to ask her co-worker, who is ridiculously busy helping the single car in the drive thru lane, who just shrugs her shoulders and we're told they "don't have it." Um. Yes, you do. You have the ingredients listed as available. I could put it together myself, if she'd let me. This isn't to say the girl didn't hook my custard up, but you can't be serious with this other B.S. I understand they're just two confused teenagers, but... IT'S ADVERTISED ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING. Who's running this place?? They're usually slow, yes, but on point any other time I visit this Rita's.... not sure what happened...

This Rita's was awesome! They have the option of the walk up window OR drive thru ! As soon as my husband and I walked up to the window the servers were all eager to help us. They all wore masks and each one greeted us with smiles, super polite to speak with and just overall friendly. Since the Covid, I think for alot of people, we are leery of choosing places to eat. So when looking inside it and seeing it was very neat and clean, it puts you at ease. I also saw atleast 2 other workers in the back wiping everything down while I was waiting for my order. Fast service. Oh and there were a ton of choices on the menu, each one had a picture next to each item. And my sweet little server asked atleast 3 times if there was anything else she could help me with before i left the window. I definitely recommend this Rita's! You won't be...

My son loves Rita's, that's the only reason I come here, even though CJ's is up the road with more options. I had two coupons. One was buy one get one small water ice free. The other was any small item becomes a large. I was charged $5.99 for two small water ices and $4.71 for a small gelati when the sign clearly says it's$4.19. in essence, I was overcharged around $3. When I questioned the young lady at the window, she clearly had no idea as to why I was even charged for a second water ice. Also, the cheese pretzel was dry and old. The young lady forgot to add hot mustard. When I asked another person there to add the mustard, she says it costs .75 cent. Then she said if I put it on myself, it's free. Wow. This is frustrating and we won't be returning here...
