We are long-time customers of Gunther's, we used to go there in the '90s when it was on Academy Blvd and we were excited to see the Woodman Location reopen after the fire. We visited the Palmer Park Blvd several times to support them after the fire and this was our 4th visit since the Woodman location reopened. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing visit. It started with my wife's burger being dry and overcooked and my son's eggs being cooked till they had more of the texture of beef jerky. My burger turned out as I ordered it and was more what I expected for Gunther's. This visit took place on Wed 5/15/2024 around 6 pm, we had stopped by for the buy a burger get one for $1 deal. My wife had gotten the tater tots that came with the burger for her side, then added house-made cheese sauce (Rock Star Topping), the menu said this was a $2 upcharge. Well, when we got the bill they had charged us full price for both burgers and $3 for the cheese sauce. So we pointed this out to the waitress and she said she would take it to her manager to fix it (we were paying with a credit card and she noticed our military ID). Well, when she came back she said that the $3 was the charge for the tater tots (that are included with the burger) and cheese sauce ($2 upcharge according to the menu) and had not adjusted the price to reflect the buy a burger get one for $1 deal again. So, we got a menu and showed her again and asked for it to be fixed. She took the bill back to the manager again. Then she came back to tell us the manager did not understand what we were saying but he had given us a military discount but could not also give us the Wed burger deal. Well, the military discount was only about $5 off and the Wed burger deal would have saved us about $13, and they were still overcharging us for the cheese topping add-on. This happened a couple more times before they finally got it right and it took about 30 mins to get it fixed. Another complaint that I have is that during all this time this manager never bothered to come over to discuss it with us or apologize for the issues getting the bill right. I would think that if he did not understand what we were saying maybe he should have come over to talk with us. It was even more frustrating because, unlike the rest of the staff, this manager (I use that term loosely) did not appear to be very...

The atmosphere was great. I liked the waitress outfits it matched the theme of the restaurant. The server was welcoming at first. She only checked on me and my wife one time. But, the table next to us did receive multiple check-ins, we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food and was about to leave, but our food came out. We ordered biscuits and gravy, home fries, sausage and eggs, and the Ernest burger with fries. I got the burger medium rare, which was cooked nicely to my liking and tasted good. The fries were awesome. The biscuits and gravy were also good as well along with the home fries and sausage. However; the eggs did not look appealing, and it was also cold. We advised the waitress about the eggs, and she happily brought it back, I've been in the restaurant business for a while now and could immediately tell that all they did was microwave the eggs. 1. When she brought it in, she almost immediately brought it back out (you can not cook eggs as fast as she brought it back out). 2. I have a photographic memory and set up the eggs a certain way to see if they would microwave it, and it came back exactly how I set it up. 3. The plate was just as warm as the eggs signaling that they did microwave the eggs as well. It's mainly the principal behind the eggs, don't be lazy and just warm it up make a whole new batch, let's produce quality. Other than that, the experience was okay. I would debate on coming back to visit, but as the owner, you may want to see who all was scheduled today as the team that was working and have a discussion about the service for today. I'm writing this after my visit. November 3rd, 2024, time in was around 10:50 a.m. time out is 1200 p.m. you know who is scheduled so you can have a corrective discussion with the team if you wish to do so. This...

I have had 3 bad experiences in a row at this location and I will never return after this last one. The first two were togo orders. Both times they messed up my burger. I asked for a veggie burger and received a beef burger instead. Seems like the gave me a new one the first time. The second time they told me that I had to speak to a certain person whom I tried on two occasions to get a replacement meal and they were not available. I paid for a meal that time I was unable to eat and it was never rectified. I dined in this past week with my husband. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant but the waitress had better things to do than attend to us. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Each of the three visits she made to our table was an apology. Completely ridiculous! I asked for a knife when she brought the food...she never got me the knife but instead took two other orders(the only other patrons in the whole place) before asking the hostess if she could "get that lady a knife" as she watched me trying to cut with the butter knife! The next time I saw her was when she brought me the bill. I handed her my credit card at the exact same time...hoping to get out of there faster. I was already finished eating at that time, but she waited 15 more minutes to bring back the receipt while I sat at the table and waited for her. Mind you she only had 2 other tables. She laughed and talked and hung out doing nothing while we patiently waited for the bill. Then she stood at the cash register drawing pictures all over my receipt before she brought it to me. I was so mad. I have never been so ignored and left sitting for so long just to get my card back at any restaurant my entire life. Totally unacceptable. I'm never buying...

Gunther Toody’s: Good Grub, Great Vibes, and a Server Who Deserves a Raise I love diners—especially the nostalgic kind where you half expect to see Elvis walk in and order a milkshake. Gunther Toody’s in Colorado Springs totally delivers on that 1950s vibe. The menu has all the classic diner fare you’d expect—burgers, fries, breakfast all day—and the food is exactly what it should be: tasty, comforting, and just greasy enough to remind you you’re not at a salad bar. Now let’s talk about the real star of our visit: our server, Honey. First of all, yes—her name is Honey, and yes—it’s perfect. Turns out it was only her third day on the job (which she only revealed when I asked her) but she handled the whole shift like she owned the place. There was a small hiccup from the kitchen—nothing dramatic—and Honey, along with a helpful crew, took care of it quickly and with charm. She was friendly, fast, and clearly already had the place figured out. If this is what she’s like on day three, I can’t imagine what a powerhouse she’ll be in a few weeks. Bottom line: Come for the milkshakes and diner feels, stay for the service. And if you’re lucky enough to get Honey, you’re in good hands.

If I could give no stars I would…waited 45 min for our food it was cold, over cooked my breakfast which was suppose to be eggs Benedict & they gave me fried eggs instead of poached, my husbands omelette was just slapped together…we ended up having to ask for it to go before brought it out. When we got home my food had a hair in it, my husbands had sandwich meat ham in it instead of breakfast ham, there was hardly any sausage & an overload of mushrooms, he picked at his only because he was headed to Denver & was late leaving due this. I called to talk to the manager & his response was “I’m really busy right now”, he did say I could get a refund when I bring back my food, but that he didn’t know when he would have time for me since he’s slammed. He gave excuses of having to work the cook line due to 2 cooks calling out, he kept saying it’s a holiday weekend & he was super busy. I get that stuff happens, but at the same time that is not a response you should say when there’s food in my a persons food & it was made like crap. We are extremely disappointed as this is a favorite place of ours but sadly we will be going out of our way to the location downtown of we ever go back.
