Only A-Okay rating....for a few reasons..... Pro's Rate 8.5 out of 10 on Mongolian Beef (well seasoned, lots of meat, needs a few more vegs in it but overall good sauce!)...but overall portion should be about 10-15% larger to make it a good economical choice....came in med sized rice box. Rate 6 out of 10 on Sweet and Sour Pork....a bit too much breading on pork bits which overall were a bit small. Portion size pretty good but could improve alot with larger pieces of pork which reduces the breading issue. Sweet sauce was diluted down and runny....definetly could be a bit more tangy and thicker.....pour it on the pork and it softens it like there is too much water....most ends up on plate. Rate 4 out or 10 for Chicken Curry.....again, thin sauce, chicken held little flavor as well as sauce.....gentle kick on spice when I ordered medium. Most sauce ends up pooling on plate....flavor pretty weak. Brown Rice accompanying food.....9 out of 10..... 3.5 out of 10 on Steamed Dumplings....doughy! more wrap than filling....very thick dough....overwhelms dumpling....very weak flavor and the accompanying sauce was diluted and weak flavor. Overall, two dishes out of three were acceptable (5+) Notes: Web site down and had to suggest to staff when I called in to text me a pic of the menu. They quickly complied but it seemed they were stumped when I asked how I could see the menu. Delivery was an extra charge of $3 for under 5 miles! Drive time due to it mostly going south on powers with not lights is under 8 minutes. Good delivery time....they told me to expect 45 minutes and it was at my door in 20 minutes..... Also, asked on the phone for fresh Spring Rolls.....they said yes but they are fried. Common parlance for FRESH does not include fried food.....when speaking of spring rolls.....usually wrapped in rice paper....and served with Peanut Sauce.....love them but not found here....no harm no foul. You might think, Spring Rolls aren't chinese....but neither is cury. Perhaps I want a Thai Chinese fusion place! Bottom Line: I will keep shopping for other Asian food places ......but there is alot to recommend this one is you don't find...

Well, I’m beginning to feel as though Pei Wei is the best Chinese place in town, especially for the price. I’m surprised by the positive reviews for this place and I’m so tired of paying $30 for dinner only to wish I hadn’t. While the food at Ivy tasted good, I was overall disappointed with its preparation. The chicken chow mein was more like soup, with all the liquids leaking out of our to-go box. The sesame chicken actually would have tasted awesome if there were any chicken behind all the breading. Gone are the days of fried rice with lots of egg, green onions, pork, and flavor. When I opened the box of rice, I thought it was just white. The egg rolls were tiny, with a thin wrapper, like the kind you get in the frozen section at the grocery store. Maybe I’m the only one looking for something I used to get in my childhood ... big pieces of chicken or pork, thickly breaded egg rolls with a 2-inch diameter, amazing egg flower soup and pork fried rice will all the flavor and ingredients. This isn’t that place, unfortunately. I...

Update May 2024 It's been over a year since I was here with my wife last. Not because we didn't enjoy it, but it's not near our home or where we travel most of the time. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken this time, which had fried rice. We had more than enough to share & get full. Tasted great & will def be back, even if it's next year.

Original Review 2023 We decided on the szechuan chicken, fried rice & a side of 4 tempura shrimp with sweet & sour sauce. The szechuan was delicious with a kick of heat. It had zucchini, carrots, onions stalks & of course chicken. The shrimp was good, according to my wife. There was plenty of food in the one dish for my wife & myself to share. Water to drink was the right choice for us. The atmosphere was alright with booths that had tall seats & open tables that made for a typical seating set up. Thankfully, there were no tv's, which made for a more peaceful...

My boyfriend has been dying to take me here. It's his favorite Chinese restaurant in town. We came for the lunch special, there was no wait and we were sat immediately. For the lunch special, you get a soup, entree, rice, and spring roll. I chose the wonton soup. It was the perfect temperature and tasted amazing. We shared the beef sticks. They were cut so thin but still juicy. I chose the sesame chicken with steamed, and I loved the taste! However, it was served too hot. The first bite burned my entire mouth. I waited over 10 minutes for it to cool down enough to enjoy. I really loved the taste, and I appreciate how they serve the food fresh, but maybe they could wait for it to cool before serving. The spring role, though, was great, so crispy. Overall the food was great, we also didn't wait long for the food. I recommend this place and we will be back!

The point of eating at Chinese restaurant is the food is hearty, fresh and quick. Much like many Asian cuisines are derived from Chinese cuisine, American Chinese food is a deviation from this and is a category by itself. I appreciate this restaurant chooses to use hard cover menu, culturally relevant wall arts (including a gigantic Chinese's legendary "eight immortals" sea crossing depiction) and keep their prices reasonable. The food was served quickly and they are pretty tasty. Cold plates for hot food, slightly overfried chicken, and lack of staff training are my few nitpicking. In my observation, this restaurant surpasses many mom and pop American Chinese restaurants in town.
