This place is a dud.
I prefer to discontinue going to a place when Iâve had a bad experience as opposed to writing a negative review, but I think itâs necessary to share with others what happened to me recently. I only wish that I had read the reviews of other customers before I visited this place because many of their experiences were consistent with what I went through. Accordingly, going forward, Iâll not be visiting places like this if I havenât first read its online reviews.
On Saturday, 3/5 2022, I went in to their shop on Academy and Austin Bluffs in Colorado Springs. There was a poster bearing an image of a tall delicious-looking super-appetizing turkey sub with lots of bacon and all the fixings that lured me in. This sandwich was/is dubbed the âZESTY GARDEN TURKEY CLUBâ that is âNEW FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY.â I had never been to this place before but as I sat there in my car waiting for my wife to return from a nearby store, I decided to go in to buy this sandwich. I went in and was the only customer in the shop. When I approached the cashier, I said hello and indicated that I wanted to purchase the turkey sub that was displayed on the glass door leading in. I had him verify the sandwich and that it came with bacon. I sat down and in about 3 minutes, I was handed my tightly wrapped and taped sub sandwich and I left. My wife and I had plans to eat elsewhere for dinner that afternoon, but I knew that weâd share the sandwich as a late-night snack.
That evening, when we finally unwrapped the sandwich, I noticed how unimpressive it was. We could hardly see anything in the sandwich from the sides and the thing seemed thrown together. It was by no means what the poster depicted. And then, when we began eating the sandwich, it was immediately clear that it was not the sandwich I paid for. It was a totally different sandwich. They had made me a sandwich of some kind with an unknown meat, garlicky spread with what seemed like sun dried tomatoes, as they were chewy and barely palatable. The portion of mystery meat was scanty at best and did not taste like turkey. And there was no bacon. The sandwich was just not very good at all. And we regret that we ate it. So, not only did they make me the wrong sandwich that was flat and unsavory, but the thing costed $11.13.
My advice to anyone reading this review is to avoid this place like anthrax. If a business has bad reviews, thereâs a reason. Stop supporting these iffy businesses that rip off their customers. Donât be fooled (like I was) by their advertisements with extreme examples of food styling. The food on their posters and displayed on their website is a flagrant misrepresentation of what they actually serve you. Simply stated, this place was like a cheap imitation of a superior sub shop. Why are there so many reviews written about this place by people who ordered and paid for one thing but got something entirely different? Thatâs absurd.
The food was a real disappointment and fell woefully short of even my basic expectations. They grossly overcharge for their subpar sandwiches and have an amateurish approach to quality control and customer service. There was a group of kids back there who seemingly had no business serving the public. And the guy who took my order kept referring to my 8-inch sandwich as a 6-inch, until I corrected him. Iâve even been wondering if what happened to me was done as a practical joke.
Anyway, that was my first (and last) experience with Jimmy Johnâs. I wish I could have written a positive review of this place, but not so. I didnât even consider calling their Customer Relations number (assuming they have one) as thereâs absolutely nothing they could have done to get...
Read moreWhen my husband went in to this location and stated which sandwich we wanted, the guy said no. After a bit, he laughed, thinking he was funny. Then he said, "Tell me your favorite sandwich, and I'll tell you how to make it better." My husband was irritated and just wanted our food and not to be bothered. We knew what we wanted and he wasn't pleased with the guy saying no to our request. HORRIBLE practice. When we got our food home, my order was wrong and they caked my sandwich with mayo when we were very specific that we did not want any mayo at all. Just meat, veggies and oil/vinegar. It was so caked with mayo I couldn't even finish half the sandwich because it was just so gross. We will NOT be returning to this location and will advise others not to do so either. The other locations we've had no problems at all, and the employees are far more polite and friendly. They are much quicker too. It took them forever to get our sandwiches done. 1 star was more than this visit deserved. Since when do you tell a customer no when they want to order...
Read moreOmG. THIS IS NOW 4 MONTHS LATER.. I ORDER AT 907. GUY CALLS AT 925 ASKING IF I WANT IT STILL CUZ IT WILL BE ANOTHER 15 MIN. I SAY OK.. IT IS NOW 1010 AND I AM STILL WAITING. CALL THE STORE WHICH IS NOW CLOSED AND HE SAYS THERE IS ONLY ONE DRIVER THAT' HAS 6 OTHER DELIVERIES... I GET THAT BUT THIS IS COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY. AT LEAST THE MANAGER WAS NICE ENOUGH TO COMP THE CHIPS AND DRINK AT MY REQUEST. BUT REALLY.... I'M STILL WAITING. DAMN
I used to order from here often and I never had any issues . In the past 2 months the service has really slipped. The past 4 times it has taken over 30 minutes to get me my food and I live 0.8 miles away from them.... seriously? ?? And then when I'm out on the road close by I see the drivers from this location driving around like bats out of hell. Almost causing wrecks. I just don't understand what's going on with them....
