Impressed!
I was torn between a few local places and finally decided on this one because it was a good sushi and regular menu.
Small, clearly family owned with a nice traditional atmosphere.
We were undecided between 4 rolls and decided to get them all and share them across the table. Menus are laminated and come with a marker to check mark or X out your selections.
Since we got there our waitress was very attentive and courteous, quick to get us our drinks and menu and made us feel at home.
Beautiful plate presentation. Tried first roll. "Dang, this is good!" Tried second. "Oh wow this one is pretty good too!" Third. "And we're 3 for 3!" Fourth. "Wow, this place is awesome."
I can't speak to the rest of their menu, but I was definitely impressed by the quality of sushi. Everything seemed fresh, even the onions in the miso and veggies in the salad.
There is a kid who appears to be the waitress' son (she may be the wife of the owner?) who recommended -- very professionally -- their mango ice cream.
4 different rolls, 3 miso soups and 3 salads, 2 green teas and 3 mango ice creams for $36! (Disclaimer: they offer 10% military discount which they applied)
Some of the other sushi places are $24 per person!
Overall loved this place. I have no clue where the negative reviews could have come from honestly. 10/10 will be coming back soon.
Rolls we had: Monkey Business, Firecracker, *the one with mango (we asked for no tuna because we like cooked), and *the baked one with salmon on top.
*Forgot the names because they were...

Read moreAlright, where to begin. Found this place on google and desided to give it a try. I am writing this in hopes the owners see it and hopefully make some changes to help their own business. Now let me start by saying the lady who waited on us was sweet, however, in this case not quite enough. We arrived at the sushi restaurant at 7 pm, was sat by 7:06, so far so good. Now here is where it goes sour for me. She seats us with no menus ready, then walks away.... We wait. We wait. And more waiting and about 15 min later get menus. A little odd. And seems like a waste of time. We check what we want and wait another 10 min for someone to pick it up our order. Then, we proceed to wait 30 min for our appatizers to come and 20 more for food. It's too much time to be waiting around. But during my time I waited for everything I can pin point why the wait.... Our waitress, the owner I'm suspecting; like I said very sweet, but I think she has a hard time multitasking and keeping the flow good. Every time she comes to a table she needs to be taking plates to make clean up easy for her. Second, when you seat someone, have menus for them so then if you have to check on someone else, at least customers have time to get a idea of what they would like. Honestly I just think she needed help, and the chefs needed help. A tad dis functional over all. And you will feel the distinction. Also, chefs don't wear gloves which grossed me out. And imitation crab is the majority of the menu. Over all I would not be returning. I hope you guys...
