We have been going to La casita off and on for over 24 years. That said, I’m having to write my first negative review...I do not like doing so but the experience we had here, twice in a 30 day period, demands that I do so. I hope the owners review this and act accordingly. When we arrived around 2pm with guests from out of the country, we were not greeted despite us being the only customers there. Then the cashier, a very sloppy dressed white man, was SO rude, that it was all I could do to keep quiet! When our guests asked him a question, he literally ‘huffed’ at them, and without a word, he just pointed to the menu, like that would answer their questions! At that point I said let’s go elsewhere as we don’t need to be treated like an inconvenience. He said that was fine with him! Our guests said they wanted to try the food as we had raved about it to them. So we continued our order, much to the dismay of the cashier, especially when I ordered my nachos ‘layered’ to distribute the ingredients evenly, he actually argued with me that ‘they don’t make them that way’ and refused to put the order in the way I asked it to be. I then went over to the food prep area where the orders are put together and asked the woman making our order if she would prepare my nachos the way I wanted them done, and she said of course, that would be NO PROBLEM! The rest of the staff were wonderful and quietly apologized for the manners of the cashier. This is the first time I’ve dealt with Caucasian help at the cashier station that was so rude that it was impossible to enjoy our meal. We went 2 weeks later to another of their locations off of 8th st, and I’ll be dadgum if there wasn’t yet ‘another’ male Caucasian cashier, dressed worse than the last one, with the SAME attitude problem, this one with horrible body odor! Except he was rude not only to us, but those in line after us! This is not acceptable in any business setting, but it’s worse in a customer service food venue, where the difference between a great experience and a horrible one lies with the first employee you interact with upon entering the establishment. There are many many other places to choose from to put up with such hostile employees that I’ll not go...
Read moreMy husband loves their shells so we come here frequently. Last time we went, I ordered 2 bean and cheese and 2 bean and cheese add egg. The cashier asked if I wanted the 5th bean and cheese free since I ordered 4. I said sure and was charged $14. Today I ordered the same thing and I mentioned the free burrito I was offered last time and said I wanted to go ahead and get that one too. The lady was rude to me saying "you didn't order 4 bean and cheese burritos, you ordered 2 bean and cheese and 2 egg burritos add bean and add cheese." I said okay I didn't really care about the additional burrito, it was just offered last time since I ordered the bean and cheese add egg. She was rude again stating that I ordered an egg and cheese add bean not a bean and cheese and the other cashier rang it up wrong and asked if I still wanted my order. I said yes and picked up the order. They charged me $17.50 this time. I paid $3.50 more to get less food than I did last time. Rip off for sure. She was rude and I got a burrito that was very heavy on egg. The egg burritos themselves cost $0.50 more than the bean and cheese, then I was charged another $1 for the cheese and $0.50 for the beans per burrito. You cannot tell me that it cost that much more to add eggs to a burrito. If my husband didn't like their shells so much, I would never go back, since that's not an option, I'll never be adding egg to a bean and cheese again and I'm leaving this nasty review. They need to rethink their business and how they are here to take care of people. Not charge them almost $4 more for the same thing I ordered a week ago. I don't care about a free burrito. What really upsets me is that they charged me so much more and they were so rude to me. It's just disrespectful and...
Read moreOrdered two plate dinners and one soft drink. After paying and before we got our dinners, we noticed a special posting in the dining room. The posting said with the order of two plates, two free soft drinks and a free order sopapillas were included. When picking up our order we asked if we should notify the meal preparer when we were ready for the sopapillas. She said they were not on the order. I pointed out the sign and she responded that they were not on the order and we should have told the cashier/ manager when we ordered. After finishing our meal I approached the cashier/manager at the pickup counter. He asked what he could do for me and I asked for the sopapillas. He immediately said that doesn’t apply because we used a coupon. I said we did not use a coupon and he again said we did. I showed him our receipt and asked him to please show me the coupon that he said we used. He looked at the receipt which showed 2 plates and 1 soft drink at full price, qualifying for the offer. He mumbled something and I got the impression that he would fulfill the order. I did not mention the free soft drink that we paid $2.99 for. After waiting about 20 minutes it became apparent that we were not going to get the sopapillas and we walked out. We have been patrons since their first location on S. Nevada Ave. The food has always been, and still is great. Unfortunately for them I do not appreciate the inference that I am a liar and their failure to honor their offer. Sadly, we are no...
