Oliver's Deli — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

I am a new customer, and I didn't know what to expect when ordering my food. I got half a sandwich and a garden salad. The portions were huge! The salad has homemade croutons. I couldn't even finish it all the way. They were both delicious. Lots of guac and thick bacon. Homemade bread it seemed. High quality ingredients. The price was comparable, but you get more for your money due to the portion sizes. There was a small hiccup with one of the front cashier's. It was around 3:40 when I went in and I guess they close at 4:00 (?). I had no idea they closed this early since it was my first time visiting. She was passive aggressive with me and other customers. Making it pretty clear they were closing soon w/o saying it, and "teaching us the ways of this small deli." She sat me on one side of the deli and was vacuuming the other side.. this poor older customer looked stressed bc this woman was vaccuming near her feet. Then again, it's a small place.. so I get it..and don't mind them cleaning while I'm eating, it was just obvious she was ready to be done with her shift...like ..now. When she took my order she quoted me the wrong price for the sandwich, and then charged me extra for ranch (I put the ranch on my sandwich and I think she thought I wanted extra dressing for my salad)... but she didn't let me know it was going to be an extra cost. It wasn't a huge deal, the manager or owner comped me for the mistake.. it was only $2. I had already tipped 20% (about 2.65) when I purchased my meal at the counter. I didn't care to get the $2 back... it was just the principal and I felt the woman at the front was condescending and passive aggressive with me.. and other customers. I was glad the manager/owner asked me how my meal was and that she was sorry I felt the way I did. I told her that the meal was delicious and I put that extra $2 back into the tip jar. I was having an awful day and I think I was triggered on top of the poor customer service from that one person. Maybe she was having an off day too. Anyways... it wasn't enough to make me not go back. The food was really good, and it made it easier to swallow the disdain down. 🤣 Mgmt made it right, so that...

With all honesty, I almost threw up with the dirtiness of this place! Where do I even start... This has got to be one of the worst places I've ever written a review for. We thought we would give it a try after reading the great reviews, but oh my gosh!!! Never have I ever--- in my entire life seen such a more disgusting bathroom in a food place before!! The toilets aren't even white anymore! They are brown, and moldy, the sink has pink slimy mold growing all over it, and as I passed by the men's restroom which was open, I saw them storing cups and to go containers next to the urinal...not joking!!! The dust on the ceiling has now began to droop down over the sandwich prep counter, and the woman making the sandwiches couldn't stop coughing all over the bread and meats with no mask. If I worked here I would be embarrassed to even be associated with this place. We used Oliver's Deli for "make your own sandwich trays". We were renting an airbnb while in town for our sons wedding over Labor Day week-end. We were inviting out of town guests over to gather at the house. The food and service was amazing. The charge was on a per person basis and we had more than enough food for everyone. In fact, we were still making sandwich's the next couple of days from the food. We ordered pasta salad and potato salad as the sides, which were both delicious too. The bride eats gluten free and they were able to provide us with gluten free sandwich bread, as well as we were able to order gluten free pumpkin bread. The pumpkin bread was better than any pumpkin bread I have every eaten. We were running on a crazy schedule with only one car and folks we needed to pick up from the airport. They waited for us to pick up the food even though is was after their closing time. Then they followed up with an e-mail later to make sure everything was good.
