Today was my first time visiting this location; we typically always go to another but but couldn’t figure out whether it was open or not due to the construction work around and lack of information about the hours and no phone number to call. I was glad that they were open because it was snowing heavily and I was starving. Parking is not as ample and convenient as for another location; the only option is street parking, and it’s limited. This was the first time I was ever able to find a parking spot around this location. Secondly, this location is way less organized and more shabby than the second one, with dirty walls and no evident display of the menus anywhere but a small printout at the register. The food options are somewhat different from another location and baked goods were limited. While this stuff they cell is on a “healthier” side and therefore kinda weird compared to classic options (for example, scones are definitely not the kind of scones that you may expect if you never tried their baked goods and more like wetting cookies/flatbreads), some of them are quite good. I got a chocolate one today and it was delicious. My husband ordered an avocado toast, and it was topped with two eggs and a generous portion of mashed avocados plus two different sauces. We paid almost $30 for these items plus drip and cappuccino which is on a more expensive side but you can get way less in other places for the same price. The biggest red flag for me was chipped dishes. Both of us got plates and cups with chips which is absolutely unsafe, and all these chips were clearly visible, so they either don’t know better or don’t care. Overall, our experience wasn’t bad but I’d rather go to the second location again. It’s way better organized and neat, and their staff...
Read moreFive Stars. I came here a year ago, and made a point to come back again the next time I found myself in Colorado Springs. I forgot how great this place is! Firstly, it is important to note that I am from Kansas City and have been to countless coffee shops. In my opinion, customer service begins when customers enter the door, and ends when they leave. I cannot tell you how many shops I have entered where they greet you, serve your coffee, then call it good. Switchback, on the other hand, greeted me when I stepped in the front door, and a polite young woman placed a glass jug of water and two glasses on my table for myself and my girlfriend within 15 seconds. Everyone who I interacted with was so incredibly kind, and the menu features the perfect balance of your basic coffee and espresso drinks (also including chai tea, matcha tea, and kombucha) and a food/pastry portion of the menu with plenty of unique and exciting options. I got a Cortado and it was incredible - served with a side of club soda on top of a solid piece of wood. The space is lively, but relaxed, with plenty of seating to fit your needs. Natural light pouring through the facade and upper windows lining the walls allow for indoor plants to cascade down the walls, providing a beautiful and natural feel with the white walls and wood accents and furniture. If you've read this whole thing, then great! All you really need to know is that this shop is great and you should most definitely find your way here if you ever find yourself in...
Read moreNice little coffee shop in the neighborhood. My biggest complaint parking is a mess! There was bees everywhere outside and I actually got bit for the first time in my life and I'm over 60.! It's definitely something that needs to be addressed. A beautiful day to be outside. Very difficult to have a conversation or enjoy myself because it was swamped with bees. I was shocked because it's I've never been stung. I was stung this time!! Ouch'y . It has been four hours and my finger still is very very sore.. If you go there stay inside that's a safer place to bee! Haha The Coffee is good. Unfortunately, there is only only one coffee option! II wasn't impressed with the food! We arrived at 10 am on a Wednesday. They were out of a lot of things! Very limited and a bit pricey. I went there for the coffee. Please do something about the bees please!!!! For these reasons I do not suggest you go. If so be aware of what to expect.. . There's many coffee shops in this town. I highly recommend checking out some that are a lot more convenient this one. This establishment did not have enough food to meet the needs of the clients. So they were out of everything. We ended up getting a bagel and cream cheese. That was all that was...
