I wasnāt gonna leave a review but I donāt think itās okay to what happened Iām sorry I had ordered on the 15th so it could be ready for the 20th so I can get for my bossās birthday, I think thatās enough time for a small cake to be ready. When I called they obviously asked for my name and my number for a call back and they told me someone would call me back on that Friday because I couldnāt give them my bosses name at the time cause she was in the next room. Nobody called back that Friday so I called back on that Saturday to confirm it was still being made, they said I was set and that it would be ready on Tuesday they never told me that I had to pay in advance (I would have if I was told to) they didnāt ask me about the name which I should have said something sure but I walked in during my pickup time and they didnāt make it at all and there was a sticky note on my order that said please pre pay? They also tried to make it seem like itās my fault that they didnāt make it, which why leave a call back number if nobody calls me back if thereās an issue? They offered to start it right then while I was there but I had to go to lakewood to go to work to celebrate my bossās birthday. Very unfortunate cause I was really excited for her knowing sheās gluten intolerant. Not very fair because I donāt think I was being unreasonable, I just think communication needs to be better however I wonāt try again here.
UPDATE For the record that was my first time in there, if someone doesnāt ask for me to pay over the phone or anything then Iām not gonna assume I didnāt know. Stop trying to make it seem like it was my fault. I was told that I was gonna get a call back the next day because he had mentioned the baker wasnāt there. I DID call back on that Saturday and nobody mentioned anything they say I was set for Tuesday. Yet again why leave my number if nobody was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter has a soy allergy, and finding safe baked goods is usually impossible. Most of the time, her only option has been frozen products from the grocery store. This bakery is about a 30-minute drive for us, but it is well worth it. The variety they offer all gluten-free and clearly labeled for multiple allergens, is something we rarely see.
They use a simple, effective color-coded system to label allergens. Each product sits on a piece of colored paper, and each color represents a specific allergen: green for plant-based, blue for dairy, yellow for egg, orange for soy, and red for tree nut/coconut. If a product contains more than one allergen, it will have multiple colors beneath it. This made it quick and easy to spot which items were safe for my daughter.
Their selection is huge! Donuts, bagels, danishes, apple fritters, cookies, cupcakes, English muffins, specialty breads, pizzas, calzones, even pre-made meals like lasagna and macaroni and cheese. We spent about $100 and brought home bagels, danishes, apple fritters, and donuts, all fresh and made that day.
The staff was friendly, answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed, even though they were busy. Most importantly, my daughter has already eaten three donuts and a danish with no reaction, proving that their allergen labels are accurate and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took a $20 uber ride for a GF and dairy free cinnamon roll. They are very conscious of allergies and I was happy to find they use almost no corn products! It was totally worth it! I couldn't believe my luck when I learned that Saturday is the only day they set out a fresh spread of all their delicious offerings. They sell mixes and frozen products all week but sell freshly baked on Saturday. I tried the phenomenal cinnamon roll (which my gluten eating husband agreed tasted "normal") a maple glazed donut hole and an english muffin. (no I didn't finish them) I wanted to see if they were worth me buying the mixes and trying to make them at home. The owner was VERY helpful and answered my questions for over a half hour as I looked everything over and read her mixes and thought of more and more questions. I ended up buying frozen rolls and donut holes to take home to my daughters and 19 lbs of flour to take home and master those cinnamon rolls (and flour tortillas and pizza crusts) myself. I would totally recommend them if you have food allergies and really miss certain baked items that are hard to make at home like...
