I want to start off by saying I have been coming to hacienda for as long of my life as I can remember. About 15 years? I used to LOVE this place but it has changed ALLOT unfortunately. A lot of locations shut down for some reason which I get lowering costs. But NOT when it comes to the food. I have never been more disappointed in my visit to Hacienda than this last time. For starters the large queso blanco was the size of a small salsa bowl. And it had no flavor whatsoever to the point I added salsa to it. Not what I’m used as it used to be my favorite at the Colorado Blvd location. Used to come with beans and rice on the side. But now just rice and lettuce. It has gone from one of my favorites for 15 years to questionable. I want to end this review with how awesome our server was. He was very personable and such a good server! We sat in the bar area and he had a lot of tables but kept everything straight. He said he’s received a lot of other poor complaints on the quality of food due to corporate. Hacienda Corporate: Please listen to your customers. I know many other restaurants that will bring in valued customers to try food and give feedback. Maybe an option to look into! Update: I decided to give it another chance! The waiter told us that the recipe of the queso blanco changed and no one likes it. So it sounds like they are aware they need to fix it however they won’t. We got the yellow queso instead and added diced jalapeños to it. It was really good! My bf got nachos with steak and I got steak street tacos with a side of salad. It was SOOO much better this time around! The salad was surprisingly super good. I’d say this place is good as long as you know what to order. Stay away from the bean and cheese burrito and white queso! Haha. Amazing service yet again.

I hate giving such a low rating because Hacienda Colorado has been a favorite of mine for 10+ years, but since we last came a few months ago, the quality seems to have dropped pretty significantly. Our service was extremely slow last night, but the restaurant was not busy enough for that to have been the reason (we've had better and faster service when it's been more crowded in the past). We had to ask for multiple items we ordered (appetizer and a drink) twice before they were actually brought because I'm pretty sure they were forgotten about. The menu looks like it's been pared down, which isn't necessarily bad, especially if the idea is to focus on items that sell well and to make it less overwhelming. But that also means that the items that remain on the menu should be top quality, but unfortunately that was not my experience at all. I ordered the roasted cauliflower bowl to try something new/different for me, which I very rarely do because after I find one dish I like at a place I usually just order that for the rest of time. It was a disaster and I'm definitely annoyed at the amount of money I wasted on it. I spent $14 plus tax and tip for a bowl that was maybe, in total, half full (and that's a generous estimate), and all it had was cauliflower, what appeared to be like half a spoonful of avocado escabeche, and some tortilla strips, that's literally all I got in the bowl, as a dinner entree. I did ask for no crema drizzle, and they managed to leave that off, but the menu also listed cilantro rice, roasted corn, black beans, sauteed peppers and onions, and pico de gallo, none of which I got. I just really don't feel like it's worth the money anymore, especially when I didn't even get half of my dinner.

Came here to meet a date on her side of town for some good Mexican food and they delivered! I had the enchiladas and she had some tacos and we shared a chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. I ate most of the rice and didn't even touch the beans but the enchiladas themselves were amazing! The seasoning was delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection! My date enjoyed her tacos as well. We did order some guac and chips and some of the ingredients in the guac could have been diced/chopped a bit better as there were large stems still in the guac. As far as the food I give it 4 out of 5. But when it came to service that's where they really delivered and kicked it up to 5 stars! I did a table reservation prior and when being taken to be seated they noticed the table hadn't been cleaned properly and after a few minute wait we were ready to go. Our server Kevin was amazing! Not only did he provide great service, an extra cup of ice cream with our dessert, he also let us hang out at our table well over 30 minutes or more AFTER closing! The staff was so respectful as they just let us chat and enjoy each others company as everyone cleaned. Just as a heads up the chocolate cake is HUGE!! Although the cake was delicious we did not finish our slice working together on it. Would still order it again tho!

Oct 9 - well, it’s been real Hacienda. I ordered this week at 4:30ish. Order said it would be ready at 5. Now I know sometimes my order is ready as much as 10 minutes early, or 10 minutes late. Usually depends on how busy the store is. Well it was dead when I arrived. I assumed it would be ready early or at worst on time. But no, tonight it was 30 minutes late. I don’t know why. I didn’t pry or complain other than asking a few times where my order was. Got home and the fries that came with my kids quesadilla were basically raw. Threw them in the oven for another 15-20 minutes. Beef for tacos was drenched in oil. Got the obligatory “leave feedback” email but the link took me to a page where I couldn’t leave any feedback. Probably knew what was coming. Haha. Sorry Hacienda, the volatility in quality and service has been too variable lately. After a year and a half of weekly takeout, it’s time for me to see other people. Usually a 4-5 star place. 3-4 over past several months.

Oct 4 - things are so variable here I feel I should write a review every week for that particular week’s nuance. Lol. I tried the fish tacos for the first time tonight. Quite good, but $16 good? Nah, probably not. Esp for two small tacos and some rice and beans. And THE ONE consistent thing from here over the past year and a half I’ve gone here every week has been their frozen house margarita. And then…what happened tonight?! Someone spilled lime juice in the machine? You guys started using some kind of margarita mix? I dunno…but it’s off. No bueno. Better be back to normal next week as 80% of why I go here every week is for their margarita!

EDIT: Someone replied to my complaint on the website. They seemed to have addressed the technical issue, and provided me with a small gift card. Very nice gesture. Have already used the gift card. :)

Not a 100% fair review here. I've been getting takeout from this Hacienda location every week for over a year. Love the food and their margaritas. Always had a great experience. Was a 5 star review type place for me. Then things started to change.

First something happened to their flour tortillas. They just...changed. For about a month they were like cardboard. Just awful. Luckily that has more or less been restored now.

Then I tried their beef tacos for the first time, and did not realize the beef came in a separate container with takeout orders. I got home and realized this after the fact. I called up and I could have sworn a manager told me they were compensating me with some kind of refund on my bill, but it never came.

Over the last month or two, I've been unable to order my items online like I always have before. The website just errors out. So I've been having to call in my orders, which is more of an annoyance than anything.

However, the last time I was going to pick up my order, I called as I got into the car as I usually do (I live 20+ minutes away from the restaurant) and I was on hold the entire time. I ended up just ordering at the restaurant, and then waiting nearly 30 minutes for my food.

As others have said, you have to vigilantly check your items when you do takeout. I'd say about 3/4 of the time I find at least something isn't quite right.

I sent a message through the Contact Us link on their website but never received a response. As much as I love this place, I think my weekly visits are going to be dialed back quite a...

We have been loyal patrons of this location since it first opened over 20 years ago. For decades, this restaurant was our go-to destination for Mexican food—whether it was a casual night out, a celebration, or simply a craving for something comforting and familiar. We visited regularly, at least once or twice a month, and always looked forward to the experience. Unfortunately, after what we witnessed tonight, August 1 will be our final visit.

It’s my understanding that all Hacienda restaurants have recently come under new corporate management. If that’s true, then it’s painfully obvious that the new leadership is more focused on cutting costs than preserving the quality, tradition, and customer loyalty that made these restaurants successful in the first place. Removing staple items like burritos and chimichangas from the menu is not just disappointing—it’s a complete misstep. These are foundational dishes in any Mexican restaurant, and their absence is both confusing and frustrating.

What’s even more troubling is learning that a respected general manager was fired for continuing to offer these items to customers. Let that sink in: a manager was terminated for doing the right thing—for honoring customer requests and maintaining the standards that regulars have come to expect. That decision alone speaks volumes about the direction this company is heading. It’s not just tone-deaf—it’s insulting to both the staff and the loyal customers who have supported this business for years.

After two decades of unwavering support, we will no longer be patronizing your restaurants. We will find another Mexican restaurant—one that still understands the importance of tradition, customer service, and basic menu expectations. And frankly, based on what we’ve seen, we wouldn’t be surprised if this location ends up closing like others have. In fact, we sincerely hope it does. What was once a vibrant, thriving restaurant with a waitlist on Friday and Saturday nights now sits half-empty. The energy is gone, the menu is gutted, and the staff morale seems to be suffering.

Let’s be honest: when people walk into a Mexican restaurant and discover they can’t order a burrito or a chimichanga, they’re not going to stick around. They’ll go somewhere else—and they should. This was a reckless and short-sighted move, and it’s already showing in the dwindling crowds and empty tables.

To make matters worse, the quality of the food that remains has taken a hit. Tonight, we ordered steak fajitas—priced at a steep $27—and they were served well-done, despite our request for medium rare to medium. At that price point, the food should be flawless. Instead, it was overcooked, dry, and completely unsatisfying. There is absolutely nothing on your new menu that we would order again. It’s been stripped of everything that made it special.

We’re deeply disappointed—not just in the changes, but in the way they were implemented. Firing a manager for trying to uphold customer expectations is disgraceful. Gutting the menu to save a few dollars while alienating your core customer base is a recipe for failure. You’ve lost our business, and likely the business of many others who once considered this place a staple in their dining routine.

We hope you reconsider your direction, but if not, we won’t be around to see how it plays...

Bummer experience. Firstly, my son is handicapped and in a wheelchair, after being critically injured while serving the country, and we arrived with him in our ramped wheelchair van, only to find there was no accessible parking. None of the spots marked van accessible were actually van accessible, all missing the required additional width in the space itself and/ or in the access isle (all of the handicapped spots were extremely narrow, even for a standard parking spots and standard vehicles). Had we parked in one of the spots and attempted deploying our ramp, it would have sliced straight into the vehicle next to us.

Additionally, and most regrettable, was that they made the deeply unfortunate decision to use half the handicapped spots for snow removal. Severely disappointing that they did not choose to use one of the many standard spots in their large parking lot for snow removal, instead choosing to violate the rights of disabled people to accessible parking, putting them in violation of multiple ACA compliance standards for lack of accessible parking both with lack of # of spaces and lack of van accessible spaces as laid out in the ADA Accessibility Standards 502.1 - 502.5.

Once we made it in, after having to make several trips back and forth dropping my me and my son off while my husband re-parked the van, we looked forward to enjoying our dinner, having left the frustration and disappointment of the parking behind us. Unfortunately, that would also not be the case.

Service was not great. Slow and no one seemed very happy to be working. We had a reservation for 5:30, so not prime dinner time, and only about 1/4 of the restaurant was filled.

The food was mostly meh. Pretty bland. Our youngest son ordered a beef taco with side of fruit and carrots off the kids menu. What was delivered was a chicken taco with only fruit and only then were we informed that "they meant to tell us earlier that they don't have any carrots". We informed the server that he also ordered beef, not chicken, to which he did bring out a beef taco ... but then charged us for an entire side order of beef tacos in addition to the chicken one we didn't order!! And we were charged for multiple orders of fish tacos, to which we only had one. When we pointed out the error, he argued with us that one of the other guests had fish, when she in fact had chicken, which was also charged on the bill.

One positive was the chocolate piñata we ordered for dessert. Very unique and fun (shareable with several people!!! It's HUGE!). It's a hanging chocolate ball filled with fruit and churros that you get to "whack" open with a solid wooden baton. Easy to share and quite memorable!

Poor service and lack of care for disabled people really made this a visit NOT to remember. Agree with others that this restaurant has really gone downhill. Used to be a place our family enjoyed several times a year. No longer the case :(. Hopefully the restaurant can learn and improve for others in the future (not sure we'll...
