I arrived back in town craving this restaurant. The food is usually fantastic. I drove 40 minutes for an early dinner only to find out that the kitchen was closed because they were switching over the menu; the kitchen would reopen at 5 pm but it was only 4:15. We were told we couldn't sit at a table but could wait at the bar and have a drink until the dining room reopened. At around 4:45 the hostess started seating other customers at tables but she wasn't sure if we could sit at a table yet or not. She knew the other customers by name. She came back and said we could move to a table but it was now 5pm so it shouldn't have been a question. Our bartender became our server but he handed us off to someone else because he knew the other table. The new server came over and asked if we were ready and I ordered an appetizer for us to share before ordering our entrees. The appetizer came out quickly from another server but with no side plates. We asked for a couple and she rolled her eyes and bought them over and quickly walked away. We called after her and asked for a serving spoon because there was no way to move the poutine from one plate to another with a fork. She gave us an annoyed look and told us we'd have to wait. I could hear her moan "Can someone get them a spoon?" Our original server brought one out. The poutine was new to the menu, so maybe the chef was is still working on the dish, but the cheese curds listed on the menu were actually shredded cheese, and the gravy was so salty we couldn't eat it. The server came back after a bit and asked if we were ready to order another round of drinks and our entrees. I told him I'd like our check and to speak with a manager, in that order. We could hear people talking in the back about who had to go out and talk to those people. Eventually a manager came out, went to the bar to sit down the beer he was drinking, and then came over. I relayed how disappointed we were after driving to the restaurant to find out it was closed despite not being on their website, waiting 40 minutes for them to reopen to order, to be treated rudely by a server, and then to be served inedible food. He said all the things a manager is supposed to say. I made sure I paid before he came out so he couldn't offer to comp the meal. He said he hoped we would come back and give them another chance, and then proceeded to the bar where he whispered something to another patron who laughed loudly and looked at us over his shoulder. It's a shame because I normally enjoy the food and the beer but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. We were planning on ordering full meals and additional drinks but it seemed to me that they were making enough off the group from P&G in the private room that they weren't...
Read moreMy family and I recently enjoyed a delightful lunch at 50 West Brewing, and I must say, it was an experience that left us thoroughly satisfied. From the mouthwatering food to the engaging activities, our visit was nothing short of fantastic.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the cheeseburger. Bursting with flavor, it was a juicy and perfectly cooked masterpiece that left our taste buds dancing with delight. The combination of the succulent patty, melted cheese, and fresh toppings made for a harmonious symphony of taste. Accompanied by a side of crispy, golden fries, this cheeseburger exceeded our expectations and left us craving for more.
As we savored our delicious meal, we had the pleasure of indulging in some good old-fashioned family fun. The outdoor corn hole game provided a wonderful way for our kids to burn off some energy while we relaxed and enjoyed the pleasant ambiance. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces as they eagerly took part in the game, and it added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
The atmosphere at 50 West Brewing was inviting and friendly, making us feel right at home. The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our visit. The rustic yet modern decor added to the overall charm of the place, creating a comfortable environment for families and friends alike.
While the cheeseburger was undoubtedly the highlight of our meal, the menu offered a variety of options that catered to different preferences. From appetizers to entrees and a selection of beverages, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
In conclusion, our visit to 50 West Brewing was an absolute delight. The delectable cheeseburger alone is reason enough to pay a visit, and the opportunity to engage in a friendly game of corn hole with the kids added an extra layer of enjoyment. With its welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, and scrumptious offerings, 50 West Brewing has certainly earned its place as a memorable family-friendly dining destination. We left with satisfied appetites and joyful memories, eagerly looking forward to...
Read moreI like to write 5 star reviews but want to be honest at the same time. I feel giving others and the business itself a quick insight to my experience … I’m only giving a 2 star review for the concept of the atmosphere … the concept is good but it’s also absolute chaos! We have been wanting to try 50 West for some time, we finally had the opportunity and were very excited to go … we went yesterday (Sat, June 1st) around 4p. Parking was extremely difficult, we actually saw people fighting over a parking space, should have been our first red flag … we ended up parking across the street and was perplexed by a crosswalk that didn’t have a sign to drivers that stopping for pedestrians, in a crosswalk, is a law, rather the sign was to pedestrians that cars may not stop🫣. We walk in, it was drizzling and found one covered seating area with maybe 12 picnic tables, was completely filled. We certainly looked and felt like first timers … we walked around trying to figure out where to order food and for the chance a table would come open … BTW, seating is aplenty if you want to sit in the sand! We went inside, there were a few tables, all full!! We finally found the order window, there were 5 of us (and our puppy, Charlie, who became all the kid’s favorite and even had his photo taken by a smitten adult🙂). Again, being “newbies” … there were many burger options (the state variations were fun) … I didn't know what was included with a sandwich, quickly learning from the not-so-friendly or helpful gentleman taking our order, everything is ala cart except for kids meals. We ordered 4 basic, classic burgers (2 doubles, 2 simgles), 4 fries, 3 sodas, 1 water and a kids hot dog meal…total $67.55. Our daughter also wanted to try the specialty donut shake, $12. So all in, just shy of $80. Overpriced and mediocre … truly a disappointing meal and overall experience! Based on the crowd, our experience may be different than others but I think there are many things that could be better….food, service, more covered seating, price and parking,...
