The Madison Place — Restaurant in Columbia Township

What I really liked with this cafe was its interior: spacious with multiple areas, designed for different mood and purposes. The cafe was good for spending some time there, whether for work, food/coffee, or time with friends. I had a Bella Melt sandwich, which was great with deep flavors of mushrooms. The price was also very reasonable. However, the reason I am giving four stars intead of five is coffee. I had macchiato in my two visits, and in both occasions, my macchiatos came out poorly with roughly made steamed milk. It was like heated milk was simply poured onto espresso. They seemed to use beans from Deeper Roots Coffee, which was really great, but again, due to the failed steamed milk, the coffee did not meet my expectation. Hopefully, I can have better coffee next time as I will definitely visit this...

The very first thing I noticed about this place was the interior design- it’s so cozy and I want to hang out here all day

I felt the neighborhood vibes from the first time I visited this place as a tourist and now that I live here I can say this place is consistently that way! The staff here are very warm, kind, welcoming.. and I like to think all that love goes into the coffee. This place truly wouldn’t be the same without the staff that’s here.

The only thing I’ve gotten here that I wouldn’t recommend is the dairy free version of the strawberry smoothie. Everything else like the avocado toasts, breakfast burrito, and coffee is all so good.

If you come here on the weekend, there will be a long line but the wait is worth it and really not too bad- bring a friend to talk to and...

The seasonal cardamom latte is LOVELY and was served at the absolute perfect temperature. Jazz music in the background, sophisticated (yet still comfy) furniture, and customizable lighting fixtures at each small table create an insightful ambiance. The breakfast burrito with the sauce is the single best breakfast burrito I have ever had in my entire life, and I am several decades old. I have ordered it twice now, and both times I have had the thought that it is and was and perhaps may always be- the very best breakfast burrito. The staff are somehow enthusiastic but also calm at the same time, which makes it very easy for someone like me (who gets socially anxious and is easily overwhelmed) to talk with them. I will most definitely be back for another breakfast...
