Wynnsome — Restaurant in Columbia Township

As a tea lover, I can’t believe I waited so long to go! They have a good range of teas (my belief is you can never have too many options) across all types, including herbal. And the cakes/desserts! They were all gorgeous and I can say the coconut cake was fantastic. I picked something out of my normal dessert wheelhouse since they were sold out of my first choices. It was a very happy choice. Paired with a berry herbal tea, it was such a light treat instead of being overwhelming.

I like the atmosphere. That building and alley have been one of my favorites downtown all the way back to Pasta Factory days.

I would love to see them offer a traditional English tea with sammies, scones, cream, and jams. But I will definitely be back and...

Wynnsome is exactly what downtown Columbia needed. As the name suggests, this tea and cake shop is a sweet and cozy spot with a touch of whimsy. Their expansive tea selection is approachable for novice tea drinkers, but also has more unique offerings to satisfy tea aficionados. The cakes are exceptionally delicious! We had the lemon gooey butter cake with raspberry compote and it was simply delightful! While coffee is not at the center of the brand, it still shines as a part of the overall menu. Really love this peaceful bright spot of joy downtown. The space is light and airy, decorated but not overdone. (Although a mirror on the big back wall might be nice so when you're sitting right there facing that way you have something to look at)

The coffee and desserts have been perfection, and my tea drinking friends said the tea is also fantastic.

We all have our fingers crossed that they will start offering afternoon tea seatings. As a transplant, I miss the afternoon tea culture that hasn't caught on in MO just yet.
