Please consider staying at another hotel. I wasn't going to leave a review however after speaking to the hotel this more and being told I needed to be quiet by the man answering the phone and 6:30am, I am going to start with a review.||Last night was my daughter's 21st birthday. She left her phone at The Roof, the bar on top. They were leaving and my daughter left her phone. She didn't realize until they walked out and she sent her sister (25) to get it. They wanted her to unlock it, sh didn't know the passcode and locked it. She called the phone and they said and I quote, "that just proves you know her." My daughter who turned 21 went back to get the phone and they used face ID with her sister and when she went to unlock the phone with the right password, it was already locked for an hour. Obviously, drinking, my daughter was mad and I thought she was overreacting. However, as soon as I arrived and after being told to be quiet on the phone this morning, she was 100% justified. Their staff is absolutely unprofessional.||I am in town from Illinois and was at my hotel. I own the phone. My oldest daughter called me and I drove there to get the phone. I am the account holder and asked to get the phone so I can prove it. I asked for them to get the phone 3 times politely. So polite, there was a man at the front desk who told the two girls working with the person who was very condescending, who I found out lied to me when she said she was the manager, they were not listening to be and being ridiculous with a phone. Several people came up to me and told me that they were being rude and they would not have been so nice.||It took over 5 minutes to get my daughter's phone. I had my Verizon account open, showed them with the number and called it. Same line my other daughter was given, this just proves you know her. I said I am here from 5 hours away and this is my phone. I said I can't add "Mom" to her contacts when you have had her phone at least 40-45 minutes at this point. They refused to give it to me and to get the phone back, they had to call the police or I had to wait 47 minutes to unlock the phone. I said, you are going to waste the police's time for this, they said yes.||I apologized to the police for wasting their time when they arrived. He walked in, got the phone because I said I was not going back inside. He got it, I called it and tried to show him my account and he smiled and said, I believe you. Took my license, wrote down my info and wished her a happy birthday. Less than 3 minutes with a police officer. This wasted valuable resources.||They claim if they find a phone this is policy however, they asked several people walking out if their was their phone and tried to hand it to the them before leaving the bar. My daughter had a large group there and some stayed behind for a few minutes, they didn't know it was hers. The phone was there for less than 5-10 minutes. They keep claiming they believed my daughters but this is policy. When they locked it for an hour, they tried to use face ID with my older daughter then her. They explained it was my younger daughter's phone. Their error locked the phone, not my daughter. This was beyond ridiculous.||The thing is, I was there to run "Uber" for her friends and make sure they all got home safely. Her friends were going to use her phone for a ride and I was taking her sister back to her house in Columbia before the rest of the group was going to be heading home. I was their safe ride home.||I hope this helps someone. If you have encountered this or your family member has, I contacted their corporate and they are going to have someone call me on Monday. They confirmed, this is never Hilton's policy and they were sorry. I am writing reviews on all Mizzou's parent's pages. As I started with, I wasn't going to do this but after being told I needed to be quiet on the phone, I don't want someone encountering this with themselves or their...

Read moreMy recent stay at The Broadway was... let's say... interesting. Read on.
Pros: Location is great, that's a given. Parking garage feels safe and secure. There's an onsite restaurant and bar if you don't want to wander out in town. Bed was comfortable, as it should be. I just happened to have a view across the city from the 7th floor, but many rooms don't have a view, or it's obstructed. Shoutout to Kendall for being very helpful behind the front desk despite seeming new, or just very undertrained, but she stepped up.
Cons: This all occurred on 3/16 and 3/17. After being told of all the construction currently taking place, and various other pieces of info, I settled in to my room and decided not to go out anywhere, so I ventured down to the restaurant/bar. There weren't many patrons, but some. I sat at the bar to get a drink and a quick meal before heading back upstairs. There was a person at the bar who was, we'll just say someone pretending to be someone they clearly were not. This person was wearing short booty shorts, and far too small at that. All things front and back were basically hanging out. And this person was being severely drunkenly loud and incredibly vulgar. The entire restaurant and even lobby could hear. This person had also invited a homeless man inside, and was buying them drinks in what seemed to be an attempt at showing off or a bad case of flirting. The staff (bartender) not only didn't care but participated, as if they were friends. Objectively not okay all around. This is a no brainer. I left as soon as I ate and paid, then went to my room. The HVAC was set on auto, but no amount of adjusting seemed to settle the system. It kept turning on/off all through the night with no temp regulation. It varied hot and cold all night. Whatever. The next morning I woke up and began my usual routine only to be politely interrupted by a blaring fire alarm. Cool. Grabbed a few things and made my way down the stairs. About 30 people congregated outside the hotel where the staff also stood, doing nothing. Part of my background includes emergency and disaster management, but it doesn't even take that experience to know all hotels, and any buildings, have basic evacuation procedures. This includes accountability of which the staff did none. Yes, we all know 99% of situations are either a minor issue or even a drill. Doesn't matter. You follow the rules. I retreated to the next door coffee shop, as did a few others, to wait out the mess. Turns out it was related to all the construction they were doing. It was a hassle, we were given the all clear, life goes on. I could now finally get my morning going so it was time for a workout. I walked in the gym only to find the large all-in-one type machine missing, which was proudly displayed in their pictures online. This was important to me and would be to many people seeking specifically that. I made do with dumbbells and other body weight exercises. This would've been just another "whatever" to chalk up, but I was accompanied by an awful sewage smell the whole time. Not sure if a close bathroom or the construction was the culprit. Either way, it was awful. I was ready to shower, pack and leave, but thought I'd grab breakfast from the restaurant before I left. Hey, they've got steak and eggs, cool. I thought that was a great choice until I got the food and tried to eat gummy, seasoned shoe leather pretending to be meat. Most of it found the trash can, as I now couldn't leave quick enough before I encountered whatever the next issue was. I'm a rational, logical person. Most of this could have been a random and wild one off. But I'll just pick another place next time I'm in Columbia, far...
