Taphouse has long been my regular pit stop for drinks and late night food, and quite often it’s a perfect serenity. I was there last night crowding the bar, trying to get in where we can. Around 1 am there was some yelling by the pool table. When I went to check out what was going on the bartender, Courtney, was screaming at another group of patrons cause she thought they weren’t spending money at the bar and thought they had gotten drinks somewhere else too, which was wild because I had seen at least two of the three people she was accusing ordering drinks at the bar at the same time as me. Courtney then kicked the group out without letting them finish their game of pool they had paid for and was literally screaming at guests. I’m not sure how she still works here with her multiple outbursts I’ve personally seen. Won’t be going back for a while unless something changes which sucks cause regulars love their regular bar. All other staff were nice and supportive, and seemed to be trying to get Courtney to chill. Patrons kept being told “that’s just Courtney” and “she does this all the time”. Awesome, everybody gotta deal with someone because “Tuesday’s are her(Courtney’s) bad days”. Food is 10/10, drinks are great. Terrible customer service though, I hope someone sees...
Read moreA small group of us took my son out for a drink for the first time since he just turned 21. The service was ridiculously slow. The waitress knew none of the answers to the simplest questions. Don't waste your time on the food it was horrible. We ordered nachos which took 30 minutes to get and the cheese was literally ice cold. The drinks were inconsistent. Three of us ordered the exact same drink and they did not taste the same. Very slow service. The waitress was more interested in standing around talking to the other waitresses than actually waiting on her table. Not a place that we would ever go again.
Amazing how there were several waitresses and tap House response is to assume they know who our waitress is. Being a new waitress doesn't mean that you stand around and talk instead of checking on your tables. Having been a waitress myself in the past never did I ever stand around and do nothing and use the excuse that it's because I'm new. Even more of a reason never to recommend a good movie of this place again thanks for lowering the stars that I did give you down to a one Good job tap House full of...
Read moreTaphouse is easily one of my top 5 places to eat and drink in Columbia. They sell liters and pints, they make their own in-house ginger ale, and the food is outstanding. My go to is the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, they offer an array of sauces to coat the chicken in and I’ve yet to find a bad one (although I refuse to try buffalo. Buffalo is a garbage sauce flavor and if you like it then you’re wrong). They have this sauce for sweet potato fries that is delicious!
They have a big beer board on the wall by the bar that has all the beers on tap listed. I can be kind of hard to see while you’re sitting down, so I’d recommend snapping a pic or two when you come in if you’re planning on staying for a few rounds. And while that ginger ale is seriously delicious and great for a kid, sober person, or pregnant lady; you can make it a little more exciting with a finger of two of whisky. Yum.
The waitstaff is also great, be sure to tip well!
They do need to replace their booth seats though, the booth cushioning is shot to hell and super uncomfortable. Definitely take a table...
