Carolina Bar & Cocina — Restaurant in Columbia

The restaurant is severely understaffed. One girl on a Sunday afternoon. Tables were dirty and not cleaned off as well as the bar area. In such a small restaurant something like that is very noticeable. Unfortunately since they are so understaffed the service was lacking as well. For food we got the following:

1.)Bandeja paisa- Everything was bland. The carne asada had no flavor and the beans were black beans as opposed to stewed red beans which is traditional with this plate. Also the chicharrones had no seasoning. 2.)Camarones churrasco- Tasted good 3.)Tres amigos- was good proportions BUT the steak had no flavor. Chicken and shrimp tasted good and the tortillas were very good.

Overall the food was ok but definitely not memorable. After you are done eating you have to pay at the bar which is odd. Overall this restaurant was ok but service was lacking and food...

The menudo and the bandeja paisa are my top choices! The vibes in this establishment made me feel comfortable especially with owner who’s always there to greet and attend to customers.
