To preface this, until I changed vocations, I spent over a decade as a classically trained French chef, have designed and opened multiple restaurants, have been the executive chef at a few notable fine dining establishments, and have been featured in both Saveur and Bon Apetit, suffice to say, I know the food and beverage industry like the back of my hand. That said, let me tell you about my Saturday Morning at Dunkin. I walked in to a scene, delivered loudly, curse word laden, and hateful, being spewed from the overly active mouth of a large, trashy, young, white woman wearing a tie-dye kitten t-shirt. I later heard her called Taylor I believe. She was so hateful about the manager not being in (I was told he had to leave for his other job.) and the poor cashier not having proper change in the drawer, that she was actively voicing her displeasure to everyone else in line and in the lobby, encouraged her trashy friends to cancel their orders after they'd been paid for and had hit the counter completed "because they'll just throw it away." She proceeded to brow beat the poor cashier, the nice young lady with the purple hair, until she literally quit her job and walked out. Taylor was so busy trashing the establishment to other customers , that she completely missed the part where she cost this woman her job, and then Taylor proceeded to stomp back into the back of the kitchen. When I gave her minions an inquisitive and disapproving look, one of them explained that "she works here, that's why this makes her so mad..." That little revelation puts her behavior in a whole new light. Taylor needs to become unemployed ASAP. If she couldn't be bothered to help out her comrades in their time of need, the least she could do is shut her fat trap and leave, certainly not be the hardest part of their morning. Before I graciously accepted my order and left, I left my contact information to be given to the ownership. I don't come cheap, but it sounds like you need a dedicated manager, and I haven't missed a day of work in fifteen years. Watching that whole debacle this morning reminded me what I loved about restaurants, more than the food, more than the organization and the fast pace, was the sense of camaraderie when your crew, in the face of a hectic rush, came together to get through it as a team. And those poor kids need some camaraderie in the worst kind of way. The very first thing I'd do is terminate Taylor's employment and call the woman with the purple hair back to see if she'd come back to work, she deserves a...
Read moreFirst of all, I don’t need to list all the issues with this location as every other negative review is 100% accurate. My biggest issue about this location is the fact there is no donut menu whatsoever outside in the drive-through! We don’t go to Dunkin often, so on the mornings, I go out of my way with my three kids to surprise them with donuts for breakfast, ordering is the most difficult thing. No clue what they have, seasonal items, nothing. So I asked my kids what kind of donut do they want and they don’t know. Then they try to pick one, I have to ask if they have that, and guess what. They never do. They are always sold out. And every time I try to order drinks like milk, chocolate, milk, juice etc. for my kids, those are also always out of stock. I’ve also never seen an employee in the building wearing gloves at any point. I always feel like a huge inconvenience to them. Going inside, there’s never anyone else in there, so it’s very awkward and uncomfortable and bright and clinical feeling. It always seems like the employees hate that were in there because they’d rather be like messing around or on their phones. Last time I went, I got overcharged, but the employees did not speak English really so I had no way to attempt to get my money back. The hot food is always cold in the middle every coffee or latte I’ve ever gotten from there has been disgusting. I was so excited when they built us close to me, but man they really need to straighten this out and hire some good employees because I don’t see how it’s even still open at this point. Last time I went, they said no donuts had been made that day at all, but I could order some hot food items. Talk about disappointed kids at 7 AM on a...
Read moreI've tried several times to let this DD find it's sea legs after opening recently, all attempts except one have failed. My biggest complaint is that this location on North side of Rangeline road NEVER HAS ANY DOUGHNUTS. There are always some plain and other unpopular flavors left but in the 7-8 times I've tried to buy doughnuts here there has only been one time I was able to purchase a crueller it was stale and gross. I've been told they "do not have any creamer for coffee, only milk" when ordering coffee and gave up and went next door to the Grind for coffee. The one time my order was taken quickly and accurately I praised the employee who took my order directly and thanked them for the super help I was informed that the employee in question had just pun in their two weeks notice because they couldn't stand working in such a mis managed store. The other two Dunkin Doughnuts in town are excellent, well staffed and stocked, and do a much better job keeping up with customer demand for items that ARE INCLUDED IN THE STORES NAME. I'm done giving 9th chances to this location and will spend my money at the stores that do a good job at their advertised purpose. At this point I think spending anything here is rewarding bad behavior and I am ok voting with my dollars at donut delight or the Grind. I don't care how swept your floor is when you never have anything I want to buy, but that is the nicest thing you can say about this store so there is that I suppose. Cleanliness is 8.5 out of ten everything...
